Nah I'm not a douche
Owning a fun car doesn’t make you a douche. All of the cars posted above are a riot to own.
And this is a nice little rebellion against the stupid crossovers and boring pickup trucks that everyone is buying.

Boxster Spyder is at the top of the list. Good spec’d ‘11s sell for close to MSRP. A Miata with a cage is a cool little car.
A friend of mine got one that I believe was a first generation back in the early 90s. It seem like whatever could go wrong with this car did. It had all kinds of electrical issues including the window getting stuck halfway down in the middle of a Chicago winter. The car was only about three months old at the time and the dealership told him that they were having so many issues with these cars that it was going to take about a month before they could get around to it.

I really like the Miata RF with the retractable hard top. If I wasnt still in the kid hauling years that would be my choice.

That reminds me. I forgot to include the Jaguar.

Yeah I don't disagree. When I travel out on the West Coast for work, I try to always get ANY convertible I can!

If I’m gonna spend 50k on a convertible I’m buying one of these restored fully

No doubt, and likely easiest to find with a 6 speed manual. They look pretty cool now too. The Corvette might be a better value than the Porsche given the incredible speed it offers, but I hear there are waiting lists still. I also just love the 718's styling.
The aftermarket for the Miata is long established so you can trick it out any way you want. I don't like 'Vettes as convertibles unless you're talking Stingray or earlier. The 718 is gorgeous which is why it's my first choice.

Porsche has had their share of issues with product launches like the IMS on the 996 and transfer case failures on the Cayenne, but their reliability is by far the top amongst their rivals and the industry in general. Their warranty is amazing too. A friend has Cayman that was gutted, caged, on slicks and trailered since new. He would drop the car off to the dealer in the trailer for service and warranty work on the stock drivetrain.

Shocking that. Convertible corvette is cheaper now than a base model 3/4 ton work truck.

$68,000 for a Vette convertible.
I can get a base model 3/4 ton work truck for less than half that.

Is it shocking because it isn't true?

Couldn’t have been a Boxster Spyder. Pretty sure Porsche did not make Spyders until the 09 or 10 model year. I’ve only seen 1 and it’s a bad bad little car.
996’s and Boxsters did have issues, especially IMS, and there are now fixes for those but they aren’t cheap. It’s why the early used Boxster market tanked.
The newer cars have been reported to be reliable. I’d love to have one, would rather a Cayman S, but they’re not giving either away.

Out the door from a dealer right now for a base Vette Convertible with basically no options is $90,000. Dealers are tacking in Market Fees out the Wazoo and selling them for that price. Looked at one about an hour ago.

You may remember my pictures from years back when I was rear-ended by a Harley Davidson in my 07 Cayman S! I still laugh that this happened.
Anyway, fast forward to last June. A Chevy 2500 loaded with carpet and pad totaled my ride. It was a great car. Waiting for the 6 cylinder version to come back. Thinking this year?

don’t understand why the Camaro even has a back seat. No one can use that thing.
What I heard is that the convertibles with the unusable backseats were made that way for insurance purposes...apparently it costs so much more for drivers to insure 2 seaters than 2+2 even if the +2 can only hold a handbag or briefcase, that manufacturers built them as 2+2s
