MidCity Pizza is pretty good as well.
The new place in Nola Brewing wasn't too bad, but haven't been much.
Not trying to hijack this thread, but wondered if you remember this place

I know what you mean, we went to Lombardi's two years ago ... everything has been kind of disappointing since.
Although, Rocca is good and Domenica Pizza is not bad.
Back in the early 2000s the Johnny DeAngelo's on Jones Creek (that moved to Coursey) was really, really close to NY pizza. But of course that's been closed.

Central Pizza in Lafayette, namely the “Carne”, is my fave, FWIW...

Can you describe what New York pizza is like? Everyone raves about it, so it’s got to really be that good. When I see people eating it on TV, it looks very unappealing, sort of soggy looking. That always intrigued me.

Large foldable slices, topping hold on and don't slide off.
Decent amount of sauce, but not dripping off.
It is funny people are downvoting Di Fara pizza.
