Convince me that living in Louisiana is better than Mississippi

I live in Baton Rouge now and don’t have a moving decision or anything. I’m just curious as to what makes Louisiana better? Just read about Mississippi legislature voting to do away with state income tax, roads there all seem to be in good shape, same climate and now there is no longer a mask requirement. What am I missing?

Money.

Seriously.

One of my good friends left Mississippi making 10 bucks an hour. He makes 6 figures in sales now. Age 24.

I'd live along the Mississippi gulf coast in a heartbeat over almost any place in Louisiana.

The rest of Mississippi can get fricked.

We have a governor that believes in science and doesn’t literally want people to die of the most deadly pandemic in human history

Jackson roads were some of the worst I've ever driven on.

I'd live on the MS coast over most places in LA, but other than that, give me south LA.

Ocean Springs/Biloxi coastline >>>> the entire state of LA.

The Covid thing has skewed a lot of perceptions. LA blows by almost every metric but so does MS. Yes they’re opening first, but when all this ends eventually you’ll be wondering why you moved there.

Baton rouge consistently ranks high on surveys that ask tech executives where the next growth areas are.

lsu has a good tech foundation.

Baton rouge and denham springs will be a "research triangle" in due time.

I’ll give you that. Especially when it comes to engineering salaries and the abundance of opportunities to work in a plant as an employee or contractor doing mechanical / electrical work.

Eh. Depends where you are.

Both states have shitholes but I think the Delta and Jackson are worse than LA’s bad areas.

I was a life long New Orleanian, lived uptown all my life. When I retired, I looked around at all the crime and the state of the local government and decided to moved full time to Bay St Louis, spend most summers here before. Love it over here. Will never move back. no real crime, not much traffic, nice restaurants, fish when the weather allows. Nola can burn down as far as I'm concerned now. But property values are going up fast, good properties dont stay on the market more than a couple of days.
