We relocated to MO in 2015 and have now been given the OK to move. (We’re permanently working from home). The original plan was to return to Louisiana, but we’re leaning towards the MS gulf coast. Taxes are less, housing dollar goes further and insurance rates seem to be lower.

And yet those trashy beaches blow the non-existent Louisiana beaches and trashy Grand Isle away.

The fact that you live in Baton Rouge. Louisiana is great most other places.

Cost of living is cheaper in Mississippi so why would I try to convince anyone?
I am Louisiana born and bread.

I live in Madison County, just north of Jackson. We’ve owned a house here for 7 years, I have no complaints so far. That said, my best friend just built a house in D’Iberville for right at $100/ft. Hard to believe in this climate. They lived in Ocean Springs before that. If I were to move anywhere in MS other than where I’m at, it would be the coast.

I always thought that Hattiesburg is a vastly underrated city in MS. Either people live around Jackson or the coast.

People seem to forget about Hattiesburg.
