Looks like it's awaiting federal approval. Your governor did sign the bill to make DST the standard time.

Should be Standard time always. The way it used to be.
It gives us much better light distribution through the day.

DST sucks. It’s not supposed to get dark till 8:30 PM.

Midnight is supposed to be in the middle of the night, not three hours after dark.

So Louisiana will be on a different time than TX, MS and AL half the year?

Wait a minute. We’re on standard time now. It gets dark at 5:30 -6:30. It’s get dark at 8:30 when we’re on DST.

You're babbling.

I’m team DST. Hate driving home and getting home at/after dark. Get way more done when we’re on DST cause I’ve got time to do it.
Want that year round if we can.

There are 24 hours in a day no matter what time of year

Knowing which one is standard time and which on is DST continues to be an absolute conundrum for so many people.

Instead of flipping an hour forward or back, just split the difference and leave it at that. So in March, jump ahead 30 mins, and never change it again.

I think the time change bill/prop or whatever it was was for LA to stay in DST. Which isn't allowed by current Federal rules. So basically it was an effort so that once it passes federally LA can automatically adopt it.

That does suck! Aren’t summer daylight hours longer anyways? So with Standard it would get dark around 7 instead of 8 with dst? Do DST in winter when daylight is shorter, and standard in the summer when It’s too hot to do any thing and dusk is prime time to be outside.

That is the way it looks.

One problem I foresee is that TV stations in Louisiana may need to adopt an East Coast Time format year round as we would be in the Eastern Time Zone Nov-March. Otherwise program times would change when Daylight Savings Time ends and starts.

The reason for this that Broadcast TV networks would need to provide Louisiana TV stations a special 1 hour earlier feed November-March. If we wanted to keep our 7 to 10 pm prime time window. In the digital age this should be easily done and most networks should have the capacity to do this, but would they be willing is the question, and it would affect live shows.

If they adopted a Eastern Time format, that would push prime time to 8-11pm. So the late news would be at 11 pm. The reason for this that during the months of Nov-March our time would coincide with the Eastern Time Zone.

Then for the rest of the year, stations would have to pick up the Mountain Feed since that would match our new prime time hours of 8 to 11 pm.

I don’t know if any OTers have network connections to know if they heard how TV stations would have to adjust to the time.
