For as many fights I have seen in the parking lot of Akasha behind Tigerland...

Their Gyro Pita is not too shabby. Yeah I know it is trashy and I am not the type to eat from convenient stores (if you want to call it that) but honestly, not too bad.

Some of the best Greek food I’ve ever had came from a gas station

Try the Shell at the corner of Perkins and Oakdale when you get a chance

Gas station chicken is the best kept secret in Louisiana.

Summer before freshman year in BR. Southern football players and LSU football players. Big parking lot for Fred’s, Reggies, whatever Tiger Todd was owning. I learned real quick they took their pride fiercely. Seen a couple SU football players/LSU players sort of flexing, but never an actual fight.

Now white dudes-seen a whole bunch of guys get thrown around. Slow Motion would be played at least FIVE times per night. Some poor kid busted up bc he was in a perceived rival fraternity. Feels like a more laid back time.....
But yeah-when SU players rolled up and their was an issue it was that interesting tension eased by alcohol. My first year at LSU it was fine to go through Tigerland to Brightside without any worry. Came back and lived off Brightside/Alvin Dark area and wouldn’t risk that weak now.

There is a lot in our pasts around campus to be embarrassed about, but downing Akasha should not be one of them

I read this twice and still don’t understand what you’re getting at.

I think that place was called Cory’s when I was in undergrad. Or maybe we just called it that because the foreign dude said his name was Cory?

Gyros were solid there going back to the late 90s.

It was cory's up until 2000 I think. Then became Akasha. Around the same time Sports Illustrated changed to Sports then to Reggie's.

Gotcha. I started in 1997 and it was still Sports, so that sounds about right.

I believe he is reminiscing about the olden days when beer was plentiful and Juvenile's Slow Motion would fill the air with its enchanted melody. Where one could walk from Tigerland to BB&G and not get murdered

Speaking of fights, what ever happened to that giant brawl in the parking lot a few years back that made it all over the news? I was in shreveport at the time and it was even on the news there.

I once watched a guy pull a gun after losing a fight in the parking lot on t shirt night for reggies. Cops were already on the way because of the fight and tased his dumb arse. Didn’t go back to reggies.

It's amazing how many people will wait in line at a Cane's for overpriced shite when there's a Popingos(Ascension), Brothers(Nola), or Krispy Krunchy(all over LA) on every corner.

I'm pretty sure if the Bars at Tigerland just had camera crews over the years they coulda made BawFights much more popular than BumFights.
