5 days in to the carnivore diet and I had a twitch that could not stop. I literally lost sleep because of it. After a redbull and starchy food it went away.
Electrolyte loss. Carbs make your body retain water, when you go low-carb you will piss a lot more fluids out and this requires you to consume more salts or you'll have low electrolyte problems like muscle twitching or headaches. This is called "keto flu".

It was hell. I probably realized my body relies too much on carbs at that point. But I said to hell with it. My diet is balanced other than the occasional redbull.

You can lose weight just as easily following a high carb, low fat diet as you would a low carb, high fat diet. All that really matters is reaching protein targets.

The OT is full of tards. I was critical of him and got just as many downvotes.

Hey guys, one more question (or two)
I'm gonna continue reading and pull up those podcasts. But how about fried foods? I know its probably not ideal on a regular basis, but does it impact the diet heavily to throw some fried pork chops, chicken, or fish in there just to shake things up?
And how about sugar free soda or energy drinks. Again, in moderation. I know theyre generally bad for you but for the caffeine and breaking the monotony of all the bottled water

quote:Can you link any peer reviewed studies reflecting this? I'm dubious because even though a low cholesterol diet has been recommended, actual consumption has increased, not lowered. If a lack of cholesterol consumption (your body makes its own) is causing the spike in dementia it's odd that it's occurring when people are consuming as much as ever before.
If you want to know a really big reason why dementia is so rampant, it's due to the low cholesterol diet.
quote:What "animal fats" are you referencing? I'm guessing you mean EPA and DHA fatty acids?
Our brains need animal fats.

We need the opinion of the Oklahoma who ate his neighbor's heart.

Not really when you consider that the statement is patently false. Try only eating french fries and see how long you live.

Never had the keto flu, but you will piss an insane amount. Started back with Keto and had a two hour meeting, I haven’t ran that fast to the bathroom since I was 5.

Probably longer than a fatass if you are a healthy weight eating nothing but French fries.

For ten weeks, nutrition professor Mark Haub at Kansas State University ate mostly junk food, limiting himself to 1,800 calories per day. The result? He lost 27 pounds. An average male his size usually consumes around 2,600 calories in a day.

Drink a big scoop of Metamucil every night, you'll give birth every morning and feel like a champ all day.

Like breaded and fried? From reading up on this diet, that's not allowed. And I think the trade-off for eating only meat would be to prepare it as healthy as possible. Like grilled or oven roasted.

Black coffee or unsweet tea. Some teas have enough caffeine to make a great substitute for energy drinks, and they are much better for you. If using a sweetener, I'd go with monkfruit sweetener.

I think the big disillusion with these diets is people think they can gorge themselves on meat, cheese, etc and still lose weight.
A low-carb diet while also staying within or below your daily caloric need would be a deadly 1-2 punch for weight loss.

All what other guys? The other article you posted didn't detail out the exact daily diet like the first guy you beclowned yourself with did.
Funny that.
