Does anyone on the board have any experience with selling a car on Vroom, givemethevin, etc.? Looking for advice, things to watch for, things you wish you would have known...

I don’t have to sell but it seems that covid-19 work from home life is here to stay and I’m looking to offload a car note/insurance payment.

Thanks all!

"Give Meth Evin" sounds like someone I would not deal with.

I’ve sold a car to Carvana. Had offers from GiveMeTheVIN and Carmax. Carvana was much higher on their offer.

Super efficient process. I drove the vehicle over there, signed over the title, and they direct deposited the money and that was that.

I sold my 2013 Chevy extended cab to carvana, they offered me more than any local dealer or private party in my area, had it heavily advertised for a couple of weeks before I sold it. They came and picked it up with little to no inspection and handed me a check, highly recommend .

Bought a car from Vroom in December. It was very easy to do and I am satisfied with the company and their service.

If you go through the process (vroom) and get the initial offer, wait 5 days without responding and they'll send you a 'good news, your offer went up' email, adding $500 to the price.

Sold my 2015 bmw 328i medium shape for 12k to shift. Dealership offered 10k trade in. It was a pretty quick and efficient experience.

They dock you if you have old tires. It’s cheaper to get new tires so you don’t get the deductions

I did Vroom. Got a good offer for my trade in, I was practically able to trade in my old car for my new one straight up without having to owe anything. Delivery of my new vehicle took a few weeks, so if you are in a hurry, I would just go to a dealer. But if you can be patient, Vroom is good.

I sold to Carvana. Super simple. They offered me $5000 more than anyone else.

Sold to givemethe vin. I didn't like their offer at first and told them what I wanted. They upped it within a day and came to the house with a truck and a check. Was a Jeep Wrangler so I'm sure what you're selling will make a difference in price. Very good experience though.
