I read on a website that Art Shell only hired him because he thought he was Bill Walsh.

Who was regular season mvp that year?
Let me help you...
quote:
Brady is the first Patriot selected NFL MVP. He drew 49 of the
50 votes from a nationwide panel of media members who regularly
cover the NFL. Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre, the only
three-time MVP, got the other vote.
The eight-year veteran who already has won three Super Bowls
helped the Patriots tear through the record books by throwing for
50 touchdowns. He beat Peyton Manning's league mark by one, and
also threw 23 of those TD passes to Randy Moss, which lifted the
receiver past Jerry Rice's record of 22.
New England scored 589 points, another record, as was the
Patriots' 75 touchdowns. Brady led the NFL with a 117.2 passer
rating -- no, not another record, but close to Manning's 121.1 in
2004. Only one full-time AFC starter, Jacksonville's David Garrard,
had fewer than Brady's eight interceptions. And Brady threw 253
more passes than Garrard.
Brady also was tops with a 68.9 completion percentage, and his
4,806 yards were 383 more than runner-up Drew Brees of New Orleans.
Brady joins a roster of AP MVPs that includes quarterbacks
Unitas, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Marino, Montana, John Elway and
Steve Young -- all Hall of Famers.
Yet Brady insists individual accomplishments don't rule his
world.

That was a great time in Raiders history. Bring Art Shell back from running a bed and breakfast then hand the keys over to Kiffin.

Just look at Brady's decline after the NFL started letting teams call in defensive signals using the same communication system that they use to call in offensive signals.
But that was nothing compared to the drop off in performance after the NFL started regularly checking the air pressure in his footballs.
Massive, indeed.

We love Mike Lombardi and his incessant Sopranos interjections, don’t we folks?
Trading Randy Moss to the Patriots was like the Napolese Camorra family sending a still-in-his-prime Furio to the Jersey Sopranos for a barge full of stolen luxury cars from America

By that logic Malcolm Smith was the best LB in the league in 2013 since he won SB MVP that season. I guess you think he’s better than P. Manning too.
Imagine trying to say the guy who had 23 TDs to 20 INTs with a 56% completion in the regular season had a better overall season than a guy with 50 TDs to 8 INTs with a 69% completion.

It was clear his skills weren’t diminishing and that he just didn’t want to play for Oakland. OC was just butthurt.

Randy Moss could not have given any less of a frick in Oakland. He got rejuvenated going to New England, and that was the result.
Yeah Randy was absolutely terrible in Oakland and obviously dogging it. He was so bad in Oakland that in the moment it legitimately being asked if he had lost a step.
Everybody on those Raiders teams looked like they didn't give a frick. Those teams were directionless and had zero leadership. It was clear Moss didn't respect anyone there and had shut down.

I agree. His 2020 Regular Season 40 TD to 12 INT and 10 TD to 3 INT Post-season ratios proved he's mediocre when not cheating.

It's still unreal that that Pays squad shite the bed in the SB and lost to freaking Eli Manning.

Very similar to what Tampa Bay did to Kansas City this year. That NYG pass rush absolutely lit Brady up both times they beat New England. When you can get a hellacious pass rush on damn near every snap without having to bring a blitz, your defense is going to have a very good day against any offense. There is no adjustment an offensive coordinator can make to his OL getting their asses handed to them on every snap.

Randy Moss failed to show up for the most important game of his career the way he did in the regular season.
Unlike the true GOAT WR. It's shining Exhibit A as to why Randy is a very distant 2nd place for greatest WR of all time.

Randy Moss was only 30 years old in 2007.
Jerry Rice had over 90 rec and 1200 yards for the Raiders when he was 40.

I’m reading some pretty awful takes in this thread.
If you’ve posted the following:

At the age of 33 Moss was finally washed up. At the age of 33 Rice broke the NFL single season receiving record.
Also like someone above mentioned, Rice showed up to play when it really mattered too. At the age of 40, he had 203 receiving yards in the Raiders 3 playoff games. Moss had just 91 yards in his 3 playoff games in the 2007 season while still in his prime.
