Yes. 100%.
One of those movies where you know everyone was just having a good time. It shows.

One of the most delicious scenes in film history Grilled Cheese

I've only seen the grilled cheese sandwich making scene, but it did make me really want a grilled cheese sandwich. Dude was super serious about making that sandwich.

One of my favorite movies.
The Netflix cooking show "Chef Show" is great as well.

I get a lot of people with very different film tastes asking me for Netflix recommendations, and I ALWAYS recommend Chef. It's not an all-time great, but it's insanely good and should appeal to literally every human being with a heart.
The only problem that I have with the movie is that the drama and climax feel a bit too... generic? Kind of like a computer collected every single romcom film that's ever existed, wrote a script based on that info, and then passed the script on to a very talented writer/director/actor that cleaned it up a bit and then put his entire heart into making it a beautiful human project.
If you liked Chef, check out "Big Night" with Stanley Tucci and Tony Schaloub playing restaurant owning Italian brothers in the mid 50's. Another delightful food-centric film that I like a bit more. The drama between the brothers and lovers felt more natural than the "I want my wife and kid back" storyline of Chef, though it wasn't nearly as well directed.

Love a lot of things John has done, and that Grilled Cheese clip shows he's into it too.
Also just saw the list of stars in this movie - amazed I missed it. Definitely adding it to my watch list.

Check out the follow up series they did. It’s perfect passive television.
Him and the Chef he based the movie on just go around making bomb arse food and what goes into it. Sometimes they do it with a high end chef to see how he does something and other times it’s just them two in the kitchen just making some shite. And Favreau is still a bit of an amateur cook so there’s a more deliberate approach to showing the cooking
It’s a nice middle ground between the loudness/ goofiness of Guy fieri and more serious cooking shows.

My favorite parts in the Chef Show are when Roy cooks something, tastes it, then says “oh frick yeah that’s good.” Just makes it so much more genuine to me.

Yeah I enjoy that they frick up sometimes to or go off recipe/ use their own feel. Really just feels like you’re watching someone cook instead of listening to Paula Dean throw a fake casserole in the over and take a pre made one out

The way that bread gets cut is unreal

Have rewatched it many times but I'm a sucker for travel food shows so a movie about that was right up my alley.

Now that you've seen the movie, go watch the "Chef Show" series on Netflix. It's Favreau and Roy Choi - the LA food truck operator and restaurateur who trained Favreau for the movie - cooking in Favreau's kitchen or other notable kitchens in restaurants all over. They remake some of the meals from the movie as well as all kinds of other meals that are amazing. They also bring in a lot of interesting guests.
It's just as great a series as the movie was and you can just see how much fun they're having together.

When they tried to do the New Orleans Beignets and John took an old box of mix out that was expired and they both were just disgusted with it, it was so funny yet so refreshing to see someone actually say "this is shite" and not cover up their own mistakes. LOL
When Roy makes a lot of his Korean influenced foods, I'm just sitting there drooling while looking at the TV.
It really is a great series if you're a foodie!
