My favorite parts in the Chef Show are when Roy cooks something, tastes it, then says “oh frick yeah that’s good.” Just makes it so much more genuine to me.
My favorite parts are when Jon asks if he's doing something right, and he's not quite doing it right but the chefs are just like "Uh, yeah, I mean, it's your food."

Great movie and just another testament to Jon Favreau being a really cool guy.

Another delightful food-centric film that I like a bit more. The drama between the brothers and lovers felt more natural than the "I want my wife and kid back" storyline of Chef, though it wasn't nearly as well directed.

There's more to it than this. Yes, he comes to the realization of what is really important in life, his wife and son, but it is much more of a "buddy road trip" film than just a generic rom-com. The relationship that he builds with his son while regaining his passion for food is the heart of the film. His wife is smart enough to figure out how to get him from point A to B without being his bitchy Ex.

I made my kids watch the scene where he and his son renovate the food truck down in Miami.

Especially the part where the kid burns the sandwich and he was going to serve it to the workers with the excuse "They didn't pay for it".

He takes the kid outside and gives this speech.

I don't think my kids got the message, but it's important. When you love something, and it's your life's work, you don't cut corners or take shortcuts.

Fantastic movie. Go watch Burnt next with Bradley Cooper. A bit more serious but still along the same lines.

It's not. The movie was a giant Twitter commercial, and I thought his decision at the end was crap. And other things.

Ive watched this movie a few times late at night, and each time I’ve either immediately made grilled cheese or pasta aglio y olio. Both are so simple yet so delicious when done right
