So Images of Katy Mixon on the set of The Thing about Pam have been published by the daily mail.

Mixon is wearing a bald cap in some photos and I´m guessing facial prosthetics to look fuller faced, because of the cancer treatment her character went thru.
With keeping in mind how she looked in American Housewife I do not think she is wearing a fat suit while it has been confirmed that Renee Zellweger wears a fat suit in the mini series.

Photo of the real Betsy Faria that Mixon is portraying

Photos are from this article https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10074253/Katy-Mixon-unrecognizable-Betsy-Faria-onset-Renee-Zelwegger-crime-drama.html

In the category of true things no one wants to hear or talk about?

The big links between obesity and cancer. Being heavy elevates all causes mortality in general but it's ironic to see even the entertainment talking about surviving cancer intentionally skirt the issue. Even when real people the shows are based on clearly have that issue.

We are so afraid of being called mean that we let others die without attempting to confront the issue.

I'm a little confused where you are going with this post. Are you questioning why Katy Mixon got so big in regards to the Risøs of her current size?

Certainly not

What I'm saying is there's a whole genre of cancer afflicted protagonist movies and television shows. The genre often does a good job of showcasing the importance of appreciating life and keeping a positive attitude. In this way I like the stories.

But it's part of a bigger picture that is deliberately not addressed. We know that human behaviors related to diet and exercise are responsible for the shortening of human lifespan and health span (cancer is just one of the categories of diseases which increases because of increased inflammation and metabolic disease related to obesity).

But we refuse to address that elephant in the room - even when the links are just as well established as links between smoking and earlier illnesses and death.

However unpleasant we find it, addressing these issues should save lives. But most people refuse to try.

The global population has almost doubled in the last 40 years. If people want to eat, smoke, or drink themselves to an early grave, let them. It's their life and they're actually doing society a favor by not hanging around until they're in their 80s or 90s.

That's their right. But since we understand the risks we should be direct and honest about them. Then people can understand the consequences of their choices

That's true...especially when it comes to putting corn syrup in everything. It doesn't seem like it's a coincidence that the obesity problem kicked off around the same time that they started using HFCS in everything.

Are you related to Katy Mixon? All of your posts on TigerDroppings are about her except for five (and one of those is about weight gain).

Hey I also wrote in the midnight Mass thread today. Anyways no I'm not related to Katy Mixon, I'm just a fan that finds her career path intersting, going from a hot thin and sometimes little chubby to still hot but also pretty overweight bordering to obese actress

It probably helped her career tbh.

Becoming a go to “TV parent” is one of the best gigs in Hollywood

There’s like 5 people that sitcoms and movies use for those roles, if you can be on that list you’ll never be out of work

I'll always remember how sad it was that the guy who played Billy Bob in Varsity Blues was becoming the go to fat guy and when he lost weight to better his health it killed his career.

Every time someone calls you out you post in some random thread.

Her career path isn't interesting at all. She's a supporting actress in a few TV shows that gained weight as she got older and had some kids. That's hardly something that everyone needs to kept up to date on.

No kidding

We're talking about the female equivalent of Peter Griffin's physique. Just because we're talking about a woman instead of a man we shouldn't remove personal accountability.

If they had started the mike and Molly show now instead of 10 years ago, they would prolly have gone with Katy as Molly instead of Melissa McCarthy

So The thing about Pam premiered on tuesday the 8th. of march and I think its time to update this thread because I´ve got a question for ya´ll

Articles have verified Renee Zellweger wears a fat suit in the show, as well as prosthetics, same articles also mentioned Katy Mixon in scenes wore a wig and in other scenes a bald cap as seen in episode 1, along with facial prosthetics in the scenes with the bald cap.

My question do you think Katy Mixon also wears some padding, is it the fit of the clothes or has she gained more weight since American Housewife?

On the left is Katy from the last season of American Housewife (2021) and on the right a screencap of Katy in the thing about pam (2022)

Other screencaps from the episode

Katy in 2010 and in 2022

Mixon portrays Betsy Faria
