Nathan's, Palmettos, and Gallagher's.

La Pines

Fratelli's

Can't remember the name but there's an old school soda fountain in Old Town.

Also a Sonic if you want to check someone's knuckles.

As other have said, Nathan’s and gallagers are nice. Phil’s has awesome food too. Tacos and beer has great Mexican and old town soda shoo is across the street from it.

I remember Happy’s fried chicken from years ago. It was always good. Not sure if still there. The chicken sandwich was great but I was like 10.

How is Middendorf’s? We pass by and see a good crowd all the time but we’ve never stopped.

Have never eaten at the Slidell site and haven't eaten at the Manchac site since '09.

The reviews of the Slidell location when it first opened were not favorable. No idea if it's Improved.

That said, there are better offerings in Slidell.

PS: Slidell gets pooped on a lot. Have been gone a while so maybe my opinions are dated but Slidell for its size is a great food town.

Second Phil's. I've probably eaten there a dozen or so times when in that area and have never had a bad meal. Good food for a great price.

To me one sign that a place is ran well and successful is seeing the same waitstaff there for years on end. Phil’s and southside both have this. Pecks is great too, I just don’t go there much bc I like table service and not ordering and finding your own table.

In my experience, as of three weeks ago, I would NOT recommend Palmetto's. Four entree's, very ho-hum. Perhaps none of us ordered the right thing, but to miss on four different entree's left us feeling less than excited. It was average, at best.

I'd go to Gallagher's or Southside Cafe.

ETA: skip LA Pine,s as well.

Yep, better than most of the popular places in the city.

Gallagher’s is more fancy for a steak, Southside has everything and is laid back, tacos and beer is good and in the old town area with other bars and the soda shop.

Hardly a town in the South that wouldn't welcome a Southside Cafe in its city limits.

Probably the thing I miss the most from my time living in Slidell. I love that place.
