Or do they just side with their team who is represented by the owner over the player?

Because when James Harden asked for a trade, and essentially dogged it, no one's going to fight back that James was dogging it his last days in Houston, but he was castrated for wanting to go to a different team. E
This really the wrong hill to die on, the rockets did everything harden ask for and he still wanted out. It’s not like the rockets are the Texans and don’t even try. harden got a super star in Paul then ran him off for his boy Westbrook.
The entire offense was his.

But fans, generally speaking, side with owners. And it's pretty strange.

This is why I laugh my arse off whenever players bitch about being "more than athletes". They are so disconnected from reality that they're almost another species.

But, and Russillo rants about this a lot, you can be pro player but also not think that every single thing players want and do is correct. Like, you can be pro player but also recognize what a piece of shite Harden was for what he did to get out of Houston. You can do both.

And I thought Draymond was at peace since he successfully petitioned the league to do away with the term of “owner” due to its overt racial overtones and replace with “governor.” Silly me.

I don't get it. If they force Drummond out there while trying to deal him and he blows a knee, then Draymond would probably complain Andre was playing meaningless minutes.
From everything I've read, the Cavs and Drummond AGREED he would sit out while the team tried to trade him. IOW, he's aware of the plan and on board with it. Same goes for Blake Griffin and the Pistons.
Draymond needs to STFU about this.

It's almost like the team owns the rights to that player via a contract that the player agreed and signed to.
Weird.
Weird.

If you don't want to be stuck in some place and want the ability to move, then don't sign 4 and 5 year contracts. Players want the best of both worlds. They want to get the long term security contract, but also to be able to move freely to any team they want while under contract. Obviously some players are forcing moves, but in general, it doesn't work like that. You sign a 4 year deal, and that's that. You're on that team for 4 years. Yes that team can trade you and no you can't up and decide to play elsewhere because you signed the 4 year contract. Sign a 1 year deal, and you can change teams every year if you want.
All of this. Draymond is a dumbass for this tirade.

What’s strange about it? They should.
People cheer for their teams. The players constantly change but the team (for the most part) stays.

I'm not talking about pelicans siding with their team over Davis type situation.
I'm talking about that sport's fans in general.

But being pro player does not mean you take the players side on every single argument. Sometimes they're wrong, like Draymond here.

Most people likely side against overly pampered millionaires who bitch and moan about nonsensical crap 24/7 while they are paid generational wealth to play a children’s game.
And that isn’t siding with the owners.
It is rolling my eyes at overly privileged individuals complaining about things that are moronic.

I can’t even really follow what Draymond’s point is here. Like what does he want? Who is he mad at?
