Needs to be on the recruiting board. Hard pass for me, though. Bug Strong, Who Mike Jones, Baskerville, and Clarke with Sampah, White, and Webb is just fine without a Bama castoff. If we want to go after a LB now, To'To or Gaoteote is the route. I'd rather save the final slot for after spring or, ideally, next year.

Call it unpopular and downvote away; but these guys need to know if they choose to sit behind other 5* at Bama and it doesn’t work out.... don’t come looking here for playing time. We got plenty of guys who chose LSU.

I don't understand the argument that the team that wins the title every other year is full of players overrated by the services.
And no you don't want him, I'm sure LSU has 6+ guys on the roster better.

It’s because players almost always get a magical bump in the ratings shortly after committing to Bama. It’s pretty comical.

It’s not Bama that is flawed. It’s the recruiting media.
It just goes to show how lamp these “premium “ services are. They rate these players based on what? Feedback from other schools? The number of offers they have? The camps they attend?
They sell a product based on player evaluation and when a player gets a power 5 offer and the services adjust accordingly it just shows how bogus they are.

Davis was basically a nobody at Bama, 7 tackles in 5 seasons

He was a fifth year senior. High character kid and a legacy. His dad is Wayne Davis. Starter at LB in the late 80s. And played for the Cardinals and 49ers.
Most people never understood how it didn’t work out for Ben. He looked the part. And clearly put in the work to last 5 years. Just kept getting passed by younger players.
I hope he finds a landing spot for his 6th season.

Ben Davis was the 10th overall recruit in the nation in 2016 via the 247 compostie... The #1 inside linebacker.
Devin White was the 151st ranked recruit overall in the nation in 2016. (He was also listed as a RB not a LB). I remember thinking it was absolutely insane that Bama got Ben Davis and Mack Wilson in the same class.
Fast forward a few years and Devin White gets taken top 5 overall in the draft and wins a Lombardi trophy. Ben is transferring to get some play out of his last year of gifted eligibility.
Recruiting rankings are fallible and we should remember that more often.

Sounds like Davis just needs a change of scenery, likely out of the SEC.
