Should clarify: ***driver shafts***

Iron shafts are a whole different animal

I agree that a 10 handicap doesn't need a tour issued $500 shaft, but the OEM's offer a lot of good options that aren't the same at all. Driver shafts help a lot too, same as irons. You can get a HZRDRS, Rogue, or Ventus with the Sim 2 and they are all going to perform quite different depending on speed, tempo, and strike.

Most people will be served quite well with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts at the proper length and lie....period.

So that’s the thing... how do I get the proper length and lie without getting fitted? I’m definitely short so off the rack clubs feel too long

Wild guess maybe he was selling show sample loan from his rep with your truck.

How much are you paying for a fitting? $50 at local PGA Superstore seems reasonable to me.

Yes it’s the velocore. It’s actually sitting in my closet now, I like the tour ad better

Yes,fitting for length and lie is very simple. Fitting for all kinds of different shafts is a waste of time(except for a driver) IMHO

This all depends on the player. For me the shaft in my irons made all the difference I needed.

I do not know Buddha but sounds like he may be purchasing clubs off places like eBay. I’d highly doubt he is selling counterfeit clubs or clubs from the rep.

Yes I would for sure pay this range to $100. Just right now my game needs work at the instructor level instead of buying new shite. Feel like I'm almost there, lessons through spring then probably pulling the trigger on some new gear.

Appreciate the heads up, OP.

I was debating getting a fitting from him. Regardless of the legality or integrity of his business practices, the main fact that he wouldn't let you adjust your order within 2 days of ordering is asinine. Had he been able to present you with a tracking number, then sure, I can understand that.

People want to run shady businesses, then this is the fallout they receive.

This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

UPDATE!!!!!!!

I wanted to give everyone an update so things are as transparent as possible. I spoke to the Mizuno Area Rep (some of you know him but i will leave his name out of it) a couple times the last 12 or so hours. I know there’s been a lot of speculation on what was happening and rightfully so but, imo the mizuno rep has nothing to do with what happened or what’s been happening. He has spoken to both parties and we had a lengthy call this morning and he said he got down to the “bottom” of what happened. I will just give the facts of the convo and you can decide for yourself what you want to believe. I left the conversation with the mizuno rep feeling good and he seems to be a standup guy.

He confirmed that the heads Buddha ordered were real and he in no way believes he is selling counterfeit clubs or anything of that means. He said that Buddha got the iron heads from a business associate who does not give shipping or tracking info. Imo after speaking with the rep it’s due to the fact that they are not supposed to be doing that. On to the rest of it. He confirmed that Buddha did order legit iron heads and shafts and has been providing nothing but legit equipment. After a lengthy convo with Buddha he feels that Buddha was trying not to have a backlog of orders and wanted to do himself and me a favor by getting it here and built quickly. Mizuno rep agreed that it was def a poor business decision regardless if his intentions were good and he absolutely agreed that his ethical decisions after the change was wanted was in poor taste. He said that Buddha felt passionately about those clubs being best for me snd he didn’t think i should get anything else (another business tactic that isn’t unethical but rep agreed is probably a bad idea). Long story short, Buddha is aware of this thread and the rep was made aware of it. The rep asked if I’d be willing to speak to Buddha and i told him I’d be happy to square this away and speak to him. I don’t expect that to happen though.

Cliff notes for people who don’t like reading like shiit. Buddha isn’t selling fake crap or breaking into anyone’s place or business to steal crap. He was getting it from a biz associate who can’t take returns or send tracking info. All of this is supposed to be a no no. His intentions whether good still put my well being and interest last. Hopefully everyone including myself has learned from all of this.

Take it for what it’s worth and make your own conclusions. Just wanted to update everyone.

For better accomplished players with a consistent repeatable swing it is a very valuable tool. For common average golfer, not so much unless you have a fast swinging person with regular or senior flex shafts. Again S300 shafts would serve the majority of these golfers.

Again, this just isn't really correct especially considering many shafts arent any more expensive and if they are its pretty negligible when you are already spring 1200 bucks or so. S300 and Project X 6.0 aren't close to being the same shaft. The project x is way more tip stiff than the DG. They're the same weight but going to get you a substantially different launch and spin profile.

I just don't understand why you'd argue not to get the right shaft when it's the same price either way.

Ets: especially with a mid handicapper who CAN'T make a repeatable swing. All the data shows more premium equipment helps the worse player because it helps them center the strike where as a good player can center the strike with most anything (this does come from manufacturers so it should be taken with a grain of salt).

the only fitter I’m going to rec on this board is Ian from TXG.

Actually, Mike builds them. Ian and Matty do the fitting and generate all the specs.
Ian is THE MAN.
