During all the kneeling during the anthem shite, this board was all about removing the anthem from sporting events.

Now that it has actually happened, you are freaking the frick out

Local radio just announced that NBAPR has said all teams will continue to play the anthem.

I’m waiting to find a tweet to post.

sang the national anthem before this post.

I sang it last night before I played an online video game.

I asked that the other people on my zoom call sing it with me before our meeting.

And it all made as much sense as singing it before a sporting event.

Ahh, here’s where we pretend and deflect and act like a major sporting event, with thousands of fans, millions of viewers, generations of fandom and billions of dollars is the same thing average Joe going to his day job, or going to the movies.

The NBA issued the following statement concerning the league’s rule on playing the national anthem:

“With NBA teams now in the process of welcoming fans back into their arenas, all teams will play the national anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy.”

Nope

Especially if we complain
I certainly complain a lot about this shite. But it’s what I believe

I was told by woke people that kneeling during the national anthem wasn’t about the national anthem. Now they’re saying they “don’t feel like the anthem represents them”.

Hmm, sounds like they were lying before when they said it wasn’t about the anthem. But anybody with two brain cells already knew that was the case regardless of what they said.

Looks like Silver doesn't want the NBA going broke.

Too late.

Sounds like the NBA doesn't know how to get out of its own way. The correct solution was to let it be up to each individual owner imo.

Today's society needs to go back in time and fight in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War (whatever side you were on) and WW1 and WW2 and then come back and decide what you want to stand for.

Whether you agree with the Civil War and no matter if you fought for the cause for the north or south, you really don't understand what those people stood for and what causes they were fighting for. Is it really necessary to rewrite history and have these anthem discussions for people who fought for their cause. No one today lived in those eras except for those still alive from WW2. People are more concerned with discrediting everything these people did in creating this country once they assumed control from the British. Were mistakes made, no question. Did the people making those mistakes give a damn that 100/200 years later they would still be causing such an uproar. A lot of people today need some reality checks on what those people went through in early America. Was slavery wrong, most certainly. Those people still fought for what they believed in and did far more for this country than anyone who tears down a statue will ever do!

I'd prefer it not to be played to be honest. Let those that want to make a display have to do it elsewhere.

Right? I say way to go Mavs, if we reserved the national anthem for international events I think that would be for the best and give it more meaning then hearing it as some sunbelt basketball game.
