I noticed that it just opened up...was curious if anyone has tried it and what your impressions were..

(and yes..go ahead and insert your Livingston / Denham jokes because they never get old)

Cue the "it's a chain, it sucks, I don't see how people can eat there" posts in 3...2...1...

My dad had a vip pass to their "dress rehearsal" last Friday. He was pretty impressed.

It says it's open on a banner outside the restaurant.

We went last week for the VIP lunch. It was good, but it is a chain. Baton Rouge has many local places that are much better.

As long as they don't pull some crap with service issues like BJ's, I would be willing to eat there. Not much better than this in Denham.

We went tonight - I was actually kind of surprised. The service was great, considering it just opened. Food was good, but nothing really distinctive. Not alot of choices in the Denham area, so I'm sure we'll go again.

It will do well at that location. I use to eat at one of these in Atlanta when I was younger. It pretty good.

I agree. For a place with the population of Denham, the restaurant scene has been very slow to catch up. When I left the village in 93, the best place was probably a Golden Corral. Recently they added Chilis and a few decent places, but for a place that size with the income level, they are five years behind the curve.

I could not agree more....with the growth the past few years in the Denham / Walker area, the restaurant scene is way behind. (although they have the fast food scene well in hand)...glad to see Longhorn & Hooters (for example) coming into the area....

Was it like Outback (since I don't think that's a horrible place)?

There is one by my office that we frequent quite a bit (well, used to). I like it- a lot. I have never had their steaks, but I've heard good things....
I usually get the chicken sandwich or plate. I have never had anything that was terrible there...
And they have really good fries...
And I would compare it more to a Chili's than a Outback

An Outback in D.S. would do very well.

PO, I think LH is far superior to Outback. To me, Outback's quality has taken a hit in the last year or two.

I agree about Longhorn being superior to Outback, much better quality.
We went to the Longhorn in Covington on our way to Orange Beach a few weeks ago and the manager at Covington was going to the Denham location. The Chicken Pecan Salad was devine! If you are looking for somewhere in Denham - Cocodrie's is one our favorites and they have several locations in Baton Rouge & Destin. I would do Longhorn before going to Bass Pro - go there for drinks in the bar but not eat there.

Agreed...Bass Pro for drinks at the bar...I've been twice...1st time ...food bad...service good...2nd time...food good ...service bad(and I sat at the bar both times and could not get a beer refill the second time).
Cocodrie's....I blackballed due to an A-hole waiter...never ate there never will.

Baton Rouge is not that far away.
Tonight I am going to Roberto's for my first time

If you have not been to Thibedeaux's lately...you should the menu has really upscaled and everything I have had so far was great. Someone in the kitchen went to cooking school... a lot of interesting sauces.
