I actually love Wentz and would give up a late-ish First rounder for him no problem.
Chicago a great fit for him IMO the bar is lower there than any team in America.

If I were the Bears, I would insist that the Eagles #37 overall comes along with Wentz for their first round pick. Wentz really is not worth much more than a late second round pick at this point in his career.

I agree. His athleticism was what made him good, and he lost that when he got hurt their Super Bowl year. I know coaches have short lifespans in the NFL—at least per tenure, until they are inevitably hired again elsewhere—but Carson Wentz isn’t saving Nagy’s job. Carolina may be delusional too if they really offered #8 for Stafford.
So frick it, Chicago may as well throw their hat in the ring if they think Wentz makes them better next season. You can say the NFC is pretty “meh,” or that it’s got a bunch of good teams that haven’t separated themselves with really good/great young QBs like the Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens seem to have in the AFC, so everyone’s a contender. Or has convinced themselves they could be.

Only way I see Wentz resurrecting his career is becoming a backup to a stable QB and healing both mentally and physically.
He has the ability, he's just been broken.

Pace and Nagy have only one more shot at success this year and they know it. Obviously the major hole for the Bears is at QB, but there are also holes at both tackle positions and the defense is getting older.
This wouldn't be an awful deal if you're moving a first for the 2022 draft instead of this year. The Bears could realistically grab one tackle in FA and another via their 1st round pick in this year's draft to field a competitive team. You're also doing that assuming Wentz is not the Wentz from 2020, which is definitely a gamble.
Ownership, however, shouldn't let them mortgage their future for a QB.. again. Honestly, the right move for ownership should have been to clean house this offseason and start the rebuild. There's no value in trading away yet again more assets to build another mediocre team with no chance of making it out of wild card weekend.
Sticking with Nagy and Pace for the 2020-21 season was sitting down at the black jack table and doubling down on 16.

IMO, this would have happened if the Bears didn't backdoor their way into the expanded playoffs.
That roster is a mess. They need a full teardown and rebuild. They should be going the other way and looking to trade off guys like Mack because they are nowhere close to competing for a Super Bowl.

I don't care about Stafford or Wentz, but seeing those QB's going for first round picks makes me think what Houston will get for Watson. Wentz getting a first round should show that multiple first, second, and players is not out of the question and likely just the opening bid for Watson.

You have to keep in mind that the second 1st rounder in the Stafford trade was not for Stafford, but it was to get Detroit to take on Goff's contract.
