Texas Lawmaker Introduces Bill To Begin Process For Texas To Secede From The U.S.

quote:

Texans are fed up. They have had enough of the far Left turn that America has taken and they aren’t going to follow it down that path. Now a Representative in Texas has formally filed a bill that would put Texas on track to be the first state to secede from the nation.
The bill filed in the Texas legislature on Tuesday would put the issue of secession and Texan independence before voters of the state.
Rep. Kyle Biedermann of Fredericksburg, Texas, filed the “Texas Independence Referendum Act,” which is seen as the necessary first step towards the Lone Star State leaving the union.

If Texas becomes its own independent nation, I'm moving my family there immediately. I wouldn't look back.

Don't get me wrong, I love America but I hate what's coming.

I would only support this if the governor posts state police and national guard at every highway, airport, train station or bus terminal deny entry of A-holes from California, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania.

Will a MAGA hat and ammo case full of 5.56 suffice as my passport?

As much as I would love to see this, there’s no way in hell the US allows this to happen. Especially under dem leadership in the house, senate, and White House.

a week ago i was opposed to TEXIT.

HB1, commission to look at the SCOTUS, DC statehood proposition, and trying to end the filibuster have my days of underestimating the need for TEXIT coming to an end.

Don't live in Texas so I don't know enough to say I support it or not. But curious about the logistics. Just how do you unwind all of the co-mingling (not to be taken in a negative way) all the state and federal dealings? For instance, like it or not, you have a bunch of federal workers in your state. Do those jobs go away? What if they are vested in government pensions? Does Texas assume that burden? Any VA hospitals there tied to instate academic medical centers? That's tough to unwind. Do Border Patrol agents become employees of the state? Pensions? Insurance? Medicaid is a federal/state program. Texas would have to assume the fed match. Those are just a few things and there will be a bunch more.

47% of Texas voted for Biden. None of them will vote to secede and maybe 60% on the right will vote secede.

Besides, how does an independent Texas prevent itself from moving left?

Would be amazing.
