Do any of the hedge fund managers have stake in CNBC? How is this not manipulation? What are fundamentals? Is analyzing that hedge fund managers are being idiots and catching them in a trap a fundamental?

All of this seems to be technically illegal. From the SEC act of 1934:

quote:

Transactions relating to purchase or sale of security. It shall be unlawful for any person, directly or indirectly, by the use of the mails or any means or instrumentality of interstate commerce, or of any facility of any national securities exchange, or for any member of a national securities exchange-... To effect, alone or with one or more other persons, a series of transactions in any security registered on a national securities exchange creating actual or apparent active trading in such security or raising or depressing the price of such security, for the purpose of inducing the purchase or sale of such security by others.

I'm not saying the feds should go after Reddit, I'm saying I think they will try to do something. I could see it playing out like the whack-a-mole game of trying to stop illegal filesharers or streamers. They could try to make an example out of some people.

Here is the end game....

Every time GME has a big down day these new stock trading geniuses will pile into it to catch the next big run up. But one day it will not run back up, it will keep going down. And it will keep going down faster and faster until it is all the way down to below $20.

And a lot of people will be left with their heads spinning wondering what happened to all of their money.

Same song and dance, just a different year and different decade.

Wapner just went to a break and asked Chamath to come back after the break.

Wapner's legs looked wobbly, not sure he will be able to answer the bell for the next round.

This clearly shows why hedge funds shouldn’t be allowed to do what they were with GME and others, under existing law..think they gonna get frog marched for it?

I can't stand Chamath because he's a Mark Beinoff type but that interview was legendary
