Maybe latent syphilis from this decade explains why Sleepy Joe got any votes whatsoever?

Well, heck. I was an active kinda guy back then. I even had a subscription to “Newspeak”. I don’t remember that issue. Probably just as well. Media was the pits back then too, particularly Time and Newsweek.

I kid you not ... we had a resident at the ltc facility that was blind from syphilis.

Honestly, I am surprised I didn’t get something from college. LSU was a fun ride.

Did a Western Pacific deployment on CV-61 Ranger in 1978. 5,000 man crew. By the time we got back home 6 months later Sick Bay had treated 4,500 cases of VD. Lots of repeat offenders. Worse case they had was gonorrhea of the throat. People complain about the swabs up the nose....try one up the penis.

Yeah- untreated syphilis is a terrible thing. It can cause blindness but it also can cause psychiatric symptoms that mimic other disorders. Tertiary syphilis can look have symptoms of mania, psychosis, depression, dementia, and others. If it goes untreated for long enough it can be very difficult or impossible to get rid of those psych symptoms.

Imagine being excited because you got your first modeling gig and you call home to your mother all excited and say "Mom! I'm going to be in a nationwide ad campaign! I'm going to be the face of VD!"

So basically they are saying “if you wanna frick something other than your hand you’re gonna get VD. Might as well make peace with it.”

Have they not heard of whiskey, hookers and blow?

Is that young Joe Biden with the comb over on the left? Tertiary siphilis would explain the cognitive impairment.
Come on man!
Come on man!

We can get Carol some antibiotics and get her back into the game. Bring on the "now sounds" and let's rock.

Joe on the right; Jill on the left and syphillis in the middle.

What are now sounds
From the sublime to the ridiculous.
Number 1 and 93 respectively on Billboard's Top 100 of 1972.
Technically, the chart version of #93 is The New Seekers, the continuation, after their breakup, of Australia's Folk-Pop group The Seekers , featuring the charming vocals of the lovely Judith Durham.
Number 93, (your personal ear worm of the week) is The Hillside Singers' Coca Cola television commercial version of 1971 for which, apparently, we all have Don Draper to blame.
Also prominent on 1972's Top 100, coming in at number 12 is Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)-Looking Glass, number 60 Layla-Derek And The Dominoes, number 75 Schools Out-Alice Cooper, number 78, a personal favorite, the late Bill Withers'-Use Me, and finally-the vastly underrated and strangely poetic number 64, Dr. Hook And The Medicine Show's-Sylvia's Mother.
