Dunn was on the front lines of those protests locally and said that, in the years since, he's grown to know members of Sterling's family personally. He said nobody truly understands the pain they've gone through.
This stupid frick doesn’t even grasp that this quote, if anything, shows a conflict that should disqualify him from proposing this settlement. No facts given, just feelings.

wait, is that image implying the CD selling was just a front for a more visible drug dealing operation?
wow, that's quite a wild accusation of St. Alton.

Not no but hell no.
How much of a cut does the politician get if this were successful?
Any politician that signs on to this rape of the taxpayers should be hung from the Mississippi River bridge.

2.5 million is a huge sum too. Sterling himself wouldn't have made that (and given it to his children) in 5 lifetimes.
And he wouldn't have paid a dime in taxes on any of it.

What is the current posture of the case? Do they have a trial date?

I thought 10 million was already proposed and shut down?
They can put it up as many times as they want, it only has to pass once.

If the vote passed, how many council members would receive a cut of the $10 mil settlement?
Posted on 1/22/21 at 11:15 am to Athanatos
I think the article said trial in two months.

It was $5M and they only missed approving it by one vote in September, and now Welch, Watson, and Wilson (who all voted against it) have been replaced. They just need to pressure one of their replacements into voting for it to pass.

What in the frick is going on in Baton Rouge?
Your council is hell bent on paying this criminals family.
Any word on paying for the families of the fallen police officers that were killed?
fricking joke. Can’t get out of this shithole state fast enough

Ah. Is the City of Baton Rouge even insured? It's either a totally unenforceable judgment against a political subdivision or unenforceable beyond the limits.

How about we give them 40x Alton's claimed income (5 year average)?
Let's see.....0x40 is 0?
