Some people ooh and aaah over a tailgate that will raise and lower itself.
I see weight, cost, and complexity--and ultimately failure.
But I'm a caveman. I prefer standard shift and don't mind manual windows.
Cars weren't always so disposable. Early 90s Toyotas were built to last. Still see those Camry's on the road quite commonly, beat to shite but still going.

I can't bring myself to do it. The prices of full sized trucks seem to have doubled in 15 years, out pacing inflation.
Trucks might be the worst but I would never pay more than half of my annual salary for a vehicle and even that's a huge stretch to me. Obviously a lot of people are doing it though.

$45K after “special offers”
Also why I couldn't bring myself to buy one. "10k off!!"...is that a good deal? Did my neighbor get 30k?
The internet used to have better info out there on real prices but I think those sites have been coopted.

Had a 2019 AT4. Worst truck I’ve ever owned. Already moved on from it.

Seems like you've been able to buy a nice Honda Accord for around 25k for a long, long time. Maybe it's just the downward pressure on cars.
I don't think I could pay 70k on a pickup or 100k on an escalade without feeling like I'd been raped.

Cars have never been more reliable at their job than they are today. Having a back up camera that craps out after 7 years doesn't mean that shite was just better in the (insert any decade from 1940-1990).

No way in hell would I spend over 40k on something that depreciates as much as a vehicle. 70k is insane.

Sorry your poor, I only pay cash. Glad they have 180 month available for you fella.

What makes $40k and under so special. Seems arbitrary.

Str8 cash fella. House , cars , anything I buy str8 cash. Thanks for the concern.

I don't care what you or the OP spends on a vehicle but I'd be willing to bet that your average 60-70k vehicle purchaser makes less than I do.

You sound like someone who was told that vehicles are a depreciating asset, but you don't really understand what it means, so now you try to squeeze that fact into vehicle discussions online to try and sound smart. Your completely arbitrary 40k threshold makes me believe I'm 99% correct with that assessment.

If you consider 70k in cash strictly car money, ah Salute Don Corleone. I'm not mathematician but with the current rates (or at least the rates a month or two back) on auto loans, Wouldn't you come out ahead putting a big chunk down and paying notes and putting the rest of the "cash" to use in the market or an interest bearing account of some kind? not that I care what you want to spend money on, but I was genuinely curious if that was a thing people try to do.
