It is time to end this strategy of trying to win now and trying to amass assets for the future. This dual David Griffin strategy of being solid enough to win now while not being very good, and trying to amass young talent and picks for the future needs to end.

There are no fans in the stands to worry about attendance. People really aren't paying that close attention.

Dump Lonzo, dump JJ, dump bledsoe. Heck, if the right deal presents itself, dump Hart.

Get young players. Get picks. Get cap flexibility.

Let Kira and NAW and Jax play and go through the growing pains. Get a high draft pick. The future is now, lets go all in on the rebuild.

i agree i don't get this middle of the road shite

what we're seeing is a problem of hiring a guy like SVG

same with Zion's issues

I'd dump Adams before Hart. I absolutely love Adams but he just doesn't fit with Zion unless our 1-3 guys are knockdown shooters. That being said, Hart needs to be a lot better than what he has been this year.

I think you need that veteran presence with such a young roster. But where you can argue we've gone wrong is all of our veterans are high paid players that deserve minutes. Adams at 27M, Bledsoe at 17M, Redick at 13M.

There's nothing wrong with that, but where is the 10 year vet making the league minimum?

Trades we need:

Lonzo to Houston for Tucker and House
JJ to Brooklyn for Dinwiddie
Bledsoe to Boston into their TPE

Sign Isiah Thomas to a minimum deal as a vet backup guard

Opens up the playing time Kira and NAW needs, gives JJ his championship opportunity, and we lose no veteran presence.

Also, opens up our full 9.3 million non taxpayer MLE to use in the buyout market if the right player becomes available and we choose to use it.

Zion needs to develop a jump shot. Zion needs to be better. There are not many centers that are going to fit next to him as is, and they won't be cheap

I've been saying this since before the season started. I understand both strategies of wanting to win now or building for the future but the Pelicans seem to be in some sort of limbo. I think you have to choose one or the other. If a player isn't apart of your future plans or you can flip more for draft capital, they need to be shipped out. Maybe that happens closer to the trade deadline. I love guys like JJ and Bledsoe but if you can't get it done with them then they should be traded.

I thought we’ve been “playing for the future”. I’m sick of being the fricking 10 seed. When are we going to be an iron clad playoff team??
