I don't know if you guys discussed this, but Texas A&M's quarterback (and other athletes) protested and wanted taken down the statue of on Lawrence Sullivan Ross who helped start and preserve Texas A&M in it's early years. Kellen Mond and other BLM folk at Texas A&M wanted Sully canceled because he was an officer in the civil war, on the south.

LINK

Here's what I posted there, it was taken down in less than a minute.

"Imagine for a moment a Texas A&M Quarterback that goes out of his way to praise Trump, badmouth Marxist BLM and stand up for Sully. Close your eyes and envision him. Now, would/could someone like this exist? I say no, because ESPN would be vitriolic in their criticism of this imaginary quarterback and his coaches would tell him not to rock the boat. "Just shut up and play." I also hypothesize that dear beloved TexAgs would allow all kinds of hate to be thrown at this imaginary Quarterback on their platform.

Now open your eyes. Are we allowed to talk about Kellen Mond yet? He's declared for the draft and the football season is over. Just to be safe I'll go ahead and copy this post and save it for next time we're allowed to discuss this player.

Anyways, Kellen Mond. This player went out of his way to protest Sully, a great man and someone who helped to start Texas A&M. Negative discussion about this Kellen's actions off the field was squelched with posts deleted and posters banned. When posts said good riddance to Kellen when he announced leaving for the draft, those posts were deleted. When posts said Kellen was the greatest of all time (LOL), those posts were allowed to stay.

I'd just like to remind everyone about the hypocrisy of the sports media now that we maybe can talk about it. Think about what went on next time you think about re-upping your yearly subscription.

TLDR/IBTD: I do not suspect TexAgs/ESPN would have stood up for any player that was outspoken from the right. In reality, TexAgs DID squelch criticism for a Marxist BLM player that wanted to remove a key piece of of Texas A&M history. I don't think that's fair, just, equitable, honest, etc., etc., etc."

I thought you guys might get a kick out of them taking this down in less than a minute.

Yes, he has declared for the draft and probably graduated. You can criticize him for whatever somewhere. I'm not sure if all these platforms we contribute to really have to follow the first amendment. You do sign up to post and they do have the option of canceling your voice.

Mond chose to attend a university with statues of confederate officers.

He’ll be canceled in 30 years.

It’s their way or no way. So glad racism is over after these brave young men protested a statue. (Sarcasm)

So did the five liberals at A&M all get jobs at TexAgs? Seems like they are out of touch with the Aggies I know but maybe I am imagining the school to be more conservative than it is.

I like that you’ve put

BLM on one side and on the other side you’ve lumped together the confederacy, conservatives and Trump.

I think ESPN owns TexAgs now. So draw your own conclusions with that information.

LSU's first President was W.T. Sherman, so I guess we dodged a PC bullet.

Brandon, the guy who runs the site is a christian and pretty conservative from my contacts that know him personally. almost all of them have nothing but good things to say about him.

however, just like Chicken's stickied post at the top of this page, when you're running a platform/publishing, the pressure to remain politically correct and keep a living is a delicate wire to balance on.

TexAgs, unlike TD.com, has a lot of direct ties to A&M and letting the board bash Mond relentlessly is going to lose those ties and inside scoops.

so i get it. i don't agree with it, but i get it.

personally, Mond was an adequate QB, that somehow did well enough to not lose the job for 4 years, but his actions off the field were enough to justifiably lose the fanbase. he called a lot of people and institutions racist, and then the team went after the boosters who are paying for their scholarships and called them racists.

If it were a talent like JFF or something, i get texags protecting him, but Mond (to clarify, while i disagree with Mond's takes this last summer, he is unquestionably a better person with a better head on his shoulders than JFF) just wasn't that type of talent and didn't bring that type of value. I do wish him well in his future endeavors and can appreciate his body of work.

Look at the bright side. Back in 1939 when Hitler was doing this yall won your last national championship in football. Maybe it will work out for you again.

Ummm,do we need to revisit the Drew Brees fiasco?

Athletes can use their platform for protests and causes...so long as that cause is an approved cause.

Leftists like to mock conservatives as conspiracy theorists when we say it is open season on conservatives and conservatism, but everyday we see it becoming more and more brazen.
