Campbell is LSU's first offensive tackle commitment for the 2022 recruiting class, and he's currently ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 56 overall prospect in the country, the No. 6 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit in Louisiana behind only fellow LSU commitment and St. Thomas More quarterback Walker Howard. On 247Sports, Campbell is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana, No. 5 offensive tackle in the country and No. 45 overall prospect in the class.

Scouting Report:

Tall and lean and wears his weight well. Appears a tad narrow through the core but owns ample space for bulking potential. Shows consistently good hand placement and keeps his mitts inside targets. Gets to second level with relative ease. Looks for extra work when necessary. Natural bender. Possesses naturally high center of gravity, but plays with above average pad level relative to height. Shows an encouraging ability to kick slide with frame to give edge rushers fits in pass pro. Can get more consistent extension at the point of attack. More of a catcher than a puncher who can improve initial punch power. Can play with a wider base. Pass pro reps have been limited. High-major offensive tackle prospect with terrific tools and long-term potential to reach the NFL Draft.

Would assume this is good for us?

Seems Walker Howard and Campbell are going to engineer this 2022 class early.
Get on board and make a statement.

Is this Orgeron's #1 target in 2022?
Elite OT in North Louisiana...we've lost one of these before.
ETA:
Besides Howard, who is already on board***

This is where we finally land our elite OT.

Dumervil and Dellinger shouldn't be counted out at all.

Moffitizing needed badly. I feel great bout both of these studs.

Let's get those bookend OTs.

I read this super fast and thought they shouldn't be counted on. Guess I have to learn to read.

Anyway I agree with you. Dumervil, Dellinger, and Campbell are nice OTs.

Emory Jones as a fricking 3* is as stupid as stupid gets. Jones is a high 4* at least.

I'm sure he's already on an aggressive program. Confident he'll be at 300# by the time he hits campus.

Keep in mind the kid just turned 17 and has a year and a half of high school left. He will be fine.

This is where we finally land another elite OT.

Please let us get an elite OT. Missing an instate OT of this caliber would be disgusting.

Dellinger was once rated the #2 recruit in the composite, FWIW. 97 v. 95 doesn’t make too much of a difference in my opinion, but Deculus makes clear that they can underwhelm.
Notre Dame scares me a bit, but I haven’t seen much info on what’s in this kid’s head. He is a huge get off we pull him.

Captain Crown,
If he does not commit to LSU, I am blaming you.

I regardless of his star ranking, he is a definite take IMO. I think Jones has lots of potential and with him being an in-state kid, he must be made a priority for the 2022 class.
And from all that I’ve read on his recruitment, they are treating him as such (pushing hard for him).
I like where we stand and I’m hopeful he will be committing to the good guys in near future
