Why is it a sad day? I would think that lots of Louisiana people are happy to see 2 Louisiana teams ranked.

You new around here? Higher education programs and their fans/alumni are like crabs in a bucket in this state.
In all seriousness, I think LSU will be ranked higher than the Cajuns in the preseason AP and Coaches polls for 2021. This is just some three hours after the CFP Championship Game stuff. They're an SEC West team with a $160 Million athletic budget only 12 months removed from a 15-0 championship season.
