Ive read this a few times now that some assistant coaches are wary to come here bc they dont want to work for O. What exactly is the reputation he has as a boss? I understand he meddles sometimes but whats so bad about working for him that it would discourage you from competing on the biggest stage with top 5 level talent? Im just trying to understand.

You are asking a site where 99.8% of the posters have never met Coach Orgeron?

I understand he meddles

So the boss can't give orders or make suggestions? He should just turn thing loose to run on un directed?

whats so bad about working for him

For sure can't be any worse then working for Saban and he sure doesn't seem to have issues getting coaches there.

I mean Joe Brady just sent two of his better guys our way, one that worked under O once before. Must not be to bad.

I have never heard anyone say this. If this was true, when O/LSU was getting hammered left and right on here after the first few games of the season, I think you would have heard this at that time.

The guy smears everyone who doesn’t lick his arse and if you’re talking about Freeman I have zero doubt it was over scheme that he turned us down. You can believe the silly wife bullshite if you want to but nobody likes Brian Kelly, he’s a jerk. For Orgeron to lose out to that guy is a bad sign no matter what the pumpers tell you.

I’ve heard the opposite. I’ve heard that Orgeron has been around the game a very long time. He’s been apart of numerous championship teams. He’s been around multiple great coaches including Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carrol just to name a few. I’ve heard he’s very well liked across the sport in the nfl and college level. I’ve heard he’s a likable guy and that’s why he’s able to recruit well. Did you ever think that guys don’t want to come to LSU because they’re scared to compete against the GOAT coach in Tuscaloosa as well as other notable coaches in this league? This is big boy shite. You come to LSU and prove yourself and you either get paid big time or land a HC job. It’s the way things work. Stop this “Coach O isn’t a good boss” narrative. People base this shite on the Matt Canada / Orgeron relationship. It’s been noted that Canada is the arse hole by non-LSU sources. Where’s this prick at now? He isn’t relevant I know that. If O was such a dick then why would Joe Brady help him out?

The quickness that some of our fan base is willing to turn on a head coach is insane. We’ve got some first class stupid I swear.

You need to understand that this is a pretty dumb statement... He is the HC. You do what he wants. He bears responsibility for that.
I have not heard anyone complain about working for him. How many assistants left here voluntarily for lateral moves? The few that I can think of were believed to have been shown the door.

Canada gone after 1 season
Pelini gone after 1 season (along with the better part of the staff)

That COULD be part of the wariness, whether those independent actions were deserved or not.

Well, he's literally the ONLY coach in America that meddles.
So, who in their right mind would want to work for him?

Ask Joe Burrow what it’s like playing for Coach O. Ask his Dad if he would have a problem working for Coach O.

Look at his career.

Also, his ex wife couldn't be reached for comment.
