I came across this video I had on my phone from I believe 2017 against Auburn, Tiger Band taking the field for their pregame performance. I don’t realize how much I miss this kind of atmosphere until I see this kind of thing.

Stadium was so loud on AU’s last drive when we held on to win. Donte Jackson was flying around breaking up passes.

Most bizarre game I’ve been to in TS. Glad I stayed around to watch us pull it out!
Side note: probably the hottest game I’ve attended in TS

Was nothing compared to the Appalachian State game in 2008. That was brutal.
Runner up was the Tennessee 2005 Monday night game. That was a steam room.

Hot as hell and they ran out of water. Thought my wife was going to pass out. Told her to suck it up

DV at its finest. Place came unhinged when Chark took that punt back.
Walked out with a W and one hell of a sunburn

Tiger Band taking the field for their pregame performance.
There's definitely a difference in the noise level generated depending on how big the game is and whether or not it's daylight or moonlight. (Chime in current Tiger Band Members and Tiger Band Alums)

My son played Tuba and has said the same.

I think I have some video of that as well, if I can find them I’ll post them!

I did back in the mid 90s when TS still seated just over 80k. The drumline has to count off the beginning of Pregame, and in all but the end of the worst seasons (like 93 and 94), it gets so loud right before we start that you can’t hear anything but a wall of sound. For a big game, it gets so loud you can literally feel the energy. If you watch, you will see the drumline move their heads together for the count before we play the first note of the intro, because that’s the only way you can start together.
When we played Bama my senior year, one of the 2 drumline captains that season let me take one of his games to count off pregame. He knew what a huge football fan I was and that it was my last year. This was 96, so it was the first time ESPN Gameday had ever come to campus and it was to decide the West. The game ended up being terrible after Herb Tyler got hurt, but the buzz before was incredible and It was by far the loudest I had ever heard the stadium for Pregame.
I can tell you this. A louder sound than that 1-2-3-4 has likely never escaped my body and the two guys a foot away from me on either side didn’t hear anything but crowd noise. I asked them after the game to confirm what I suspected. I’ve had a lot of respect for QBs trying to audible and change protections on the road since then. The level of sound on the field is insane and there are 20k more people in the stadium today.

I'll never forget my first LSU game as a kid - the day I knew I'd go to school there. Nov. 10, 2007 against LA Tech. I grew up going to Tech games for years, but the second I saw the Tiger Band at the top of the hill, stopping in silence, then blasting 'duhhh duh duh duh!", the feeling couldn't be put into words. Tigers ended up winning 58-10 and Jacob Hester broke an enormous run that will stay with me forever. We need THAT atmosphere back!!!

Florida 2013 sucked too. Lots of band kids passed out from heat exhaustion.

I’m was so damn hot.
I moved my tickets 3 rows back the year after so I would always be on the shade.
