HC Texas. Prove you can rebuild another tradition rich college program in a new conference dominated at the time by OU. Cement your legacy by doing it in another conference before you enter the twilight years.

Saban will either retire from Bama or coach himself into the grave there. He isn't leaving for another job.

It’s really not necessary. He already did it with both LSU and Alabama that are in the hardest conference.

You do that when you're fifty, not when you're on the cusp of seventy years old.

He will be on the sideline in a wheelchair and still have every 5 star in the country line up to say they played for him.

Yeah I don’t buy he’s good just yet. Need to see him win elsewhere.

So take a huge step backwards to UT and call it a milestone?
Why not USC? Michigan? FSU?
The real answer to “only milestone left” is success in the NFL.

This. I predicted Saban would look at either UT or USC a few years ago and that they were the only possible places he would leave for. Then USC got put on major probation and he said no to UT when they backed up the Brinks truck before settling on Charlie Strong. If he was going to leave Bama, it would have been then.

A couple more sideline tirades and he’ll stroke out.

I don’t t think he is going anywhere. But I do think he might be the only coach that can turn Notre Dame into a perennial national champion again.

The only milestone is the Super Bowl. He will only be known as a great college football coach. Paul Brown won both in college and the pros. Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer and Pete Carroll will always be known as better football coaches.

Does this mean that Eddie Robinson wasn’t a great coach since he only won black college football championships and not a division 1 or division 2 championship and never won a super bowl much less coached in the NFL
