What's most unfair is that they don't get to play for the championship against ALL the schools. There should be no division between public and private schools.

DLS played a great game against a better opponent. Completely wore down the STM defense. Very well played game when most thought it would be a blowout.

Yeah, but with the exception of that one series, STM's D was much better in the second half.

My Cavs gave them a hell of a fight.

Really sucks we have to play 4A team as a 3A school.

F this split.

Maybe but STM players were dropping like flys with cramps. The TOP had to be heavy in DHS favor by a significant margin. Part of that was DHS pounding the ball with long drives, but also because they couldn’t stop STM (Bech) from scoring big plays quickly.

I also think STM’s coach was trying to force a blowout early and should have kicked FGs which would have made it a different game.

Regardless the better team won. I feel for DHS. They have had a great run, but are like the Buffalo Bills. Only 2nd place trophies to show for a great football era.

Cavs played a FANTASTIC game. I knew from the first series that it was a last-possession kind of game. Cavs gave it everything. No shame in that game at all.

They could opt up and play against schools in D1 with enrollment numbers more like their own? Or Karr could be select like they should.... how many title appearances did sTm have before the split?

I hope you realize that there is a significant difference between St Aug having 1023 all boys and St Thomas More having 971 within a coed school

Great game. STM has a prolific offense and deserved to win. They may be the best team in La. regardless of classification.

The Cavs have a fine running game and fought hard, but this game came down to three big plays:

1. The onside kick resulted in STM scoring twice in 10 seconds.
2. A DLS dropped pass would have kept a good drive alive that ended a few plays later on a missed 4th down conversion.
3. On that last drive, the loss of yardage on the fumbled snap put the Cavs behind the eight ball with regard to down and distance.

Wouldda, couldda shouldda.

Definitely time for STM to nut up and move to D1 instead of continually beating 3A teams for championships.
