Mr. Gatti's right off the LSU campus.
When I was in undergrad, the student meal plan would include "Tiger Cash" which you could spend at any restaurant on campus and some off campus. Mr Gatti's took Tiger Cash, and it was about $6 for the buffet. My roommates and I would basically fast all day on Tuesdays and hit that up around 6PM.
The pizza wasn't great, but if it were open, I'd definitely visit for nostalgia. We definitely got our money's worth there.

Losing The Caterie to a fire was a huge blow to Baton Rouge.
The way that neighborhood has changed, a music venue like that likely couldn't afford rent in that area anymore.

The arcade pizza place with the projector screen TV out on Florida near Monterrey was pretty awesome. Anyone remember that place?
Was that Sicily's?

There was a video-rental store inside the supermarket and a slammin' selection of rasslin' magazines, best I recall. That's SO 80s, man...

Yes! I remember the snack bar too. It was up front by the registers. As you said, though, the restaurant was off to the side, to the right if you walked in the main entrance. Had an open walkway from inside the store to get into the restaurant and it's own entrance from outside as well.
Didn't matter what time of day it was because inside the restaurant it was always "night time". There were minimal windows and the entire area was decorated in typical late 70's/early 80's brown/tan/gold. There were few lights and it was always dark. Of course, now that I think about it, the ceilings and walls were brown/tan likely because of the cigarette smoke. Was no such thing as a smoking section in a restaurant in my early childhood!

Back in the day the old men would sit up front at the bar and drink high balls while their women made groceries.

Anybody remember a pizza place in Denham in a shopping center, I think where the tractor supply store is now? Early to mid 80s, want to say the building had a green roof/awning but it wasn't just the pizza place in that strip. Obscure and random I know, just wondering what the name was, I can remember my dad playing Donkey Kong there. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Believe it or not, there's still a Danny's Fried Chicken operating in Fairhope, Alabama. My wife and I came across the place while passing through last summer and couldn't believe it.

Cool fact for me. My wife’s grandfather owned a construction company that built the Howard brothers and original Walmart stores in La, Ms and Tn. He built what’s now Hobby Lobby on O’Neal.

Damn, I'd forgotten about that place. Great "tuneup" spot for UNO basketball games at the old Chamber of Horrors.
