Devonta Smith and Najee Harris - SENIORS up for Heisman: Thoughts?

How in the world does Ala. get these guys to stick around for their senior seasons? They are both great players who should both already be in the NFL this season. This is what LSU needs to figure out if they are going to be contenders year-in and year-out. Maybe it's the lure of another national championship? Chance at Heisman? I can't think of any other reasons. If they were wearing purple and gold my bet is they would be in the NFL. This is the biggest difference in these 2 elite programs. Props to those 2 guys for playing 4 years. Thoughts?
Oh yea - Merry Christmas!

I can think of another reason: money

LSU sells itself as NFLSU. It’s a springboard to get you in the the nfl as quickly as possible.
Bama puts just as many players in the nfl, but bama sells bama and national championships. Of course they have players that leave early. But they also have a lot more players that buy into bama.

Lol. How would that keep people who are about to earn enough to buy 10 chargers per family member.

Najee Harris
He wasn’t invited to ceremony. I know he was 5th in votes, but just sayin’. Every player is “up for Heisman”, we normally consider those “invited” as the finalists (I don’t guess there will be an actual ceremony this year). I only point this out because I hate to give any Alabama player credit for anything. Sorry, not sorry.

Why are we talking about our rivals best players on an LSU message board?

LSU fans need to stop the penis envy. It’s embarrassing

Najee isn't even one of the four finalist though. So idk what the OP is getting at. Smith and Mac Jones are the two Bama players.

If Bama won the title last year, all of them would have left. That is the only reason.

Jeez.... Harris wasn't on the ballot but he did finish in top 5. Semantics. As for the b.s. bamaphobia I'm just pointing out that these guys are seniors and are the best players in college football at their positions AND they were great last year. Could/Should have went pro already. LSU stresses NFLU. ALA stresses national championships. I get it. Thanks for the insights. I guess the only way to change that mindset is win more natty's...... LOL

You really don’t know what OP is getting at? Harris was a late first to early second round pick last year and he returned.
BTW, it’s finalists when your talking about more than one. Lazy tongue.

Alabama had 4 first round picks last year : Tua Jeudy Ruggs Willis plus X McKinney went at the top of the 2nd all were true juniors. They would not have had 8 first rounders last year the only one that went back that may have gone in the first was Leatherwood. Smith would have been 2nd at best in what was a very deep WR draft. As for Harris (and Etininne) RB should go whenever they are eligible imo. RB are done by 28-29 but that he stayed really doesn’t affect them they have other RB and would be 11-0 regardless.

Not win championships. That’s exactly the reason those 2 went back to Alabama.

It’s a percentage thang. Only so many 5 stars leave early. Sign 6 keep 3. Just the way it is.

Bama sells The NFL just as much. But they sell kids on being first rounders.

It a discussion. Because LSU should be looking at what Alabama is doing to keep their players around. In order to be the best you have to know what the best is doing and be willing to do it. So discussions should be had. Shying away from a discussion is how people stay away from getting better. Sorry you’re too insecure to talk about it, but it’s not penis envy. You’re just insecure and too short sighted.

They wanted a chance at a national championship. Some of our guys may have come back if Clemson had beaten us.
