Will be in the area for 3 days and need a hotel. I see they have an Embers Inn and America’s Best.

Would I be better off getting something in Delhi or Rayville?

Not trying to get the family at a Crack Shack. Tia

Baw those are hourly rental cribs, either move west or east. Rayval has a sex shop on the south side of 20 I believe so that’s a +.

Head to Monroe/WM or head E towards Jackson. I doubt you want to stay in a motel in Winnsboro.

I now see you have family with you. Take the recommendation above. Otherwise, your wife will hate you for a long arse time, maybe forever.

Rayville at least has a Super8 and Days Inn. Would probably be my choice

Or as Dave Robicheaux would call them “hot pillow joints”

The hotel by the Mexican joint looks clean. The one at Chase looks decent, too.

Probably safer in Winnsboro than up on 20 at rayville.

As already said, the ones in Chase are probably the best. I’ve stayed in them before. But as also stated, if you want nice, you’ll have to go to Ouachita Parish.

Are you hunting or doing outdoor things? Maybe look at the cabins at Lake Bruin State Park? Or if on the north side the cabins at Poverty Point State Park (Delhi) are awesome... they are set out about 20 yds from the bank on the water with a little boardwalk.

Rolling the dice with bedbugs there.

There is a new Hampton Inn by the mall in Monroe. That would be my choice.

This. If it were just me, I could probably get by for a night or two at one of the joints in Chase, or maybe Rayville (but probably not).

NO WAY I'm taking my wife and kids to either unless I'm hard up.

Go to Monroe.

See if Poverty Point State Park has any cabins. about 35-40 miles away. I love the cabins over the water.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll be staying 3 nights somewhere in the area with the wife and 2 kids. I’ll look into the cabins or just accept I’ll have an hour commute from my hotel each day

ETA: No vacancies at Poverty Point. Sucks because I kinda got excited for that

Tell me about Poverty Point State Park. Good hiking in the area? Looking for a short road trip between Christmas and New Years.

I'm not sure if there are any trails in Poverty Point. It is more of a fishing destination. I think they catch some HUGE white perch in there every year.

You can actually drive your boat up to the cabins.

It really is a beautiful place with excellent boat launches and cleaning stations.

ETA: It usually gets pretty full up this time of year because lots of people stay there when they hunt Tensas.
