Considering the App. St. fans are immature college geeks, why are you surprised?

thanks man...had a long day, and needed a good laugh.

I think you're missing the point : The fire is still burning for Les Miles ( Alma Mater )

I predict two QBs will play.

One defensive score 7 either a fumble or an Interception.

Three rushing scores 21 Williams, Scott and Murphy.

Three reiceiving scores 21 Byrd, LaFell and Toliver.

One kickoff return score 7 Holliday.

I don't understand why you're laughing

Why do LSU fans think that they are the beginning and the end of everything.....the alpha and the omega.....the "big boys" just because a few schools got together and designed a method that they would have 85 scholarships and App State and others would have 63 scholarships to play football.
Does that make you "feel" like you are better than us? For your information the NCAA asked Appalachian if they wanted to stay 1-A back in the 80s....the year after App State beat South Carolina at Columbia, Wake Forest at Winston-Salem, Marshal and East Carolina I believe. Appalachian wanted to stay in the SoCon (the conference that spawned the SEC and the ACC) so we agreed to go into the lower division (after the NCAA said that that lower division would have really good television broadcasts....didn't turn out that way.) It was a safer move....due to expenses....they thought. No telling what App State might have done since, if not for that decision.

All you have to do to get 85 scholarships is play in division IA. But App St. doesn't want to play in the IA, because then they'd be an average nobody team. You guys like it much better being a big fish in a small pond. You lost to teams called "Wofford" and "Georgia Southern" last year. Jeez, what an accomplishment.

Did they lose to Wofford that year, too?

But we do know why they aren't moving to go IA now. They're chicken.

We're no better than you. But our football team is much better than yours, and Tiger Stadium is the most difficult stadium in the country for a visiting team to play in. App St will be completely destroyed. There won't be an Michigan style miracle victory for you. Les Miles doesn't frick around.

We didn't move up then because we weren't extremely great those years. You also realize the reason we actually haven't moved up is because our stadium and everything isn't 1-A material right? And we can't move up until at least 2011 even if we wanted to right now...

Just throwing that out there.

In response to this thread...
1) I'm just confident in our team but I don't think we'll win. I didn't realize I was being delusional with those statements. I do think there are others that are delusional, but most of the people I know that are not on this board and attend the school(which I'm not sure if most of the ASU posters attend App) don't think we're going to win. I think we might keep it close, there are others who think it will be a complete blowout. I think those few delusional fans showed up on this board. Doesn't everybody have a few, just like everybody has a few idiots.

2) I don't think anyone can be more delusional than ND. Even when they won like 3 games last year, they still thought they were the best team in the world. It was just an "off year" and they will do perfectly fine this year...according to a couple I know.

But remember "wofford always plays them tough'

Dont get me wrong, Appy is a fun team to watch but are completely outclassed in this matchup.

yes you guys upset Michigan. A couple of blocked fieldgoals, Michigan going for 2 twice (including inexplicably in the 3rd Q and failing), and Hart getting hurt (absolutely no depth at RB in Michigan - Minor is useless). Hart averaged over 8 yards a carry and we have 3 RB's that will do the same. The speed difference between Mich D and ours is not comparable.

Enjoy Baton Rouge and enjoy the food.

Delusional: a false belief or opinion

My sons 8 year old peewee league football team has won 2 championships in a row. Would it be delusional for them to think they could beat LSU?

I don't know did your sons peewee football team beat a team that was higher ranked than LSU last season?

Did they beat a team that had more heisman candidates on it, than LSU has had in a decade?
