Kind of like John "Spud" McConnell, formerly of WWL. Though I don't know if he actually ever claimed to be from New Orleans, he certainly does contrive to have a NO accent, even though he grew up in Gonzales and graduated from East Ascension HS.

That tomato sauce on the bbq shrimp is great so I don't imagine tomatoes would be too bad, but if you put too much it might end up tasting like some cowboy stew.

File gumbo seems to me like it should be a completely different thing from gumbo with okra and stewed tomatoes in it. I prefer the latter.

That weird poster, Deep Purple Haze, makes a vegetarian gumbo that relies heavily on tomatoes. He says it's only when he's short on meat.

Only gumbo his wife has ever gotten.

Gumbo needs a Roux from scratch.

Gumbo does not ever need tomatoes.

Okra is by preference.

Where do you people come from?

This....a jar of roux is the Louisiana version of Henry Hill ordering spaghetti and getting egg noodles and ketchup.

Are people really so sensitive about gumbo? Will "cajuns" become the next BLM type group?

I was in a DFAC at Ft Gordon and saw some tomato/okra concoction. Was literally shaking when the sign in front of it said “Gumbo”

Thinking about doing a refi on my second home so I can get a TD T-Shirt.

How are you? Still doing 600 sit ups a day?
