1. Hypothetically speaking, if no other current players transfer, dismissed, or opts out, were looking at 29 players.

2. Current Freshman have to play and lets hope their ready.

3A. Hope he can finish strong for the recruiting of 2021
He's currently sitting at #3 in 247 with 20 commits.

3B. 2021 Recruits will have to play immediately to get any depth back.

4. Better hope for the Brennan news to be fake news; We need him bad.

5. 2021 Best bet: 7-5 I'd be thrilled with 8-4.

Am I missing anyone?
Will COACH 0 keep his job after a 7-5 8-4 record?

8-4 would be a bad season even in a competitive SEC. You don't settle for anything less than 10 wins with the amount of talent LSU will have.

This year doesn’t count towards eligibility. I see some seniors coming back next year. ZVR and Tori Carter I could see.

I love LSU to death, us going 8-4 is the most real I can think. If Myles comes back, and defense steps up, we 9-3 maybe by the skin of our teeth 10-2. But I think the % of that taking place is super low.

We’ve lost 39 players between last year and this year. Off of an 85 man roster. That’s fricking insane.

I still think O is the man for the job but he has a fricking bear in front of him to right this ship and he has to do it with 2 shitty hires

LSU isn't going 12-0 next year but 10-2 is the standard LSU should be aiming for. Losing to Bama sucks and you have to be competitive in that game, but there's no reason LSU should lose to Bama, Auburn, Florida, and A&M with the amount of talent that LSU has.

This season gets a pass with the attrition, new defense with no spring, opt-outs, and the injury to Myles Brennan. These things will be off the table going into 2021 and LSU fans should expect drastic improvements. 8-4 would be a bad season, I'm looking at 10-2. Auburn will be tough and very experienced team but LSU gets them at home. A&M will be tough as well but again, LSU gets them at home. Bama on the road is a probable loss but you expect LSU to compete. Florida I'm not sure of right now but that's always a close one.

No more excuses heading into 2021, time to get back to winning.

We will find plenty of excuses, but I fear the wins will be much harder to come by.

In a 12 game season, not counting bowl games?

We’ve “settled” for less than 10 regular season wins 11 times in the 20 seasons since Saban took over.

I don’t understand where this myth of “10-2 is the minimum at LSU” comes from. Never, in the history of LSU football, have we met that bar.

I do agree that going .500 in SEC play (8-4 season) is bad by LSU standards.

A&M will be losing almost their entire Oline and will be breaking in a new QB. If we lose to them next year, the wheels will have really fell off.

. This is false. Their best lineman is a sophomore plus they believe some of the seniors return including Mond and of course Spillar will be there.

Smart post, I have said this repeatedly. All the sunshine pumpers don't get it, I say 6 and 6 next year with maybe a bowl win. Unfortunately unless thing change O could be done in 2022

Once Saban built the program up to a championship level, LSU lost 2 regular seasons games or less in eight of the next ten seasons from 2003 to 20012.

That is not a “myth”, that is the proven standard that LSU can and should be able to meet on a regular basis when the program is being managed at an elite level.

If that is our record in 2021 and I'm the AD, O is gone.

A&M will run into the 85 scholarship limit. They’ll have to have a LOT of attrition to bring back seniors.

So what you’re saying is that even during the most successful run in LSU football history, 10-2 was still not the “floor”?

I’m at the front of the line arguing that 2020 was an impossible year because of the historic losses and the lousy 2018 recruiting class. But 2021 is different. Next year our team will be powered by the 2019 class, which will be in its third year, just as the epic 2017 class was, which powered 2019. The three classes manning the spots will all be top 5, and the remnants of the lousy 2018 class will be about what had left of 2017 this year.

We will also have two second year QBs who both got lots of experience in SEC games. Our skill positions on offense will all be good to excellent. Our offensive line should return everyone besides Deculus and Ingram. And we have some very good linemen developing on this team. If you doubt that, I’ll remind you that going into 2019 the Rant was heavily under the impression that the offensive line was going to be weak. I was preaching that I saw a lot of young talent in 2018, and it just needed time.

Defense should be great next year if Stingley doesn’t opt out. If he does, then the DBs will probably be just okay, but the front seven will be very good.

Tl;dr: We’re competing for the SEC next year.

Add to this you got guys like Naquan opting out before they even opt in.

The decline is real.

I always have 9-3 as the floor... Anything worse is pretty much a failure, anything better is a good/great season.
