Hardest post I’ve ever had to make

I’m not good at this but here it go’s...
I lost my Pop today.
He’s been in the hospital for three weeks fighting the Covid and had actually turned the corner ( we thought) when he left ICU a few days ago after being there for over a week. But despite his fight his body just had given all it had left and he passed quickly and peacefully this afternoon with my mom at his side. Despite making a 4 hr drive from SC in just over 3 hrs I didn’t make it in time for his passing. He left about the time I must have been pulling into the hospital parking lot.
I don’t know any of you personally but I would ask that you tip one back for an AirCav Vietnam vet and the best bass fisherman ( and 2-time Georgia State B,A.S.S. Federation State Champ, 1978 MBAA National Champ) that ever wet a hook in the state of Georgia (Lake Eufaula in particular).
Goodbye Pops....I’m gonna miss ya

Sorry for your loss, baw.
You’re lucky to have had a man for a dad.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I send my condolences and will keep you and your family in my prayers this holiday season. Having never met the gentleman, I can say I appreciate his service for our country.

Condolences on your lose. My dad is also a Vietnam vet so he is probably the same age as your dad but he’s no fisherman.
Prayers for you, your mom, and the rest of the family.

Dang man. Sorry to hear that. Lost my Pop a little over 4 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. Praying the good Lord gives you and your family peace, comfort and strength to get through this.

Yeah I lost my old man on Jan 2. It’s how life goes, but it sucks. All you can ask for is a somewhat peaceful end.

An accomplished life
Sorry you narrowly missed his passing, but maybe better to keep the lasting memories over that anyway
Hope you find peace soon

AUTimbo,
Even though we haven’t met, I know what you’re going through and for that I am so deeply sorry. The hardest thing to do is say goodbye.
I wish there was something that we could say that would make it easier but unfortunately there just isn’t.
The only think I can recommend is to remember the happy memories.
I will say a prayer for you, your mother and family.
