Dude was a can’t miss 5 star LT coming out of HS. Was the best LT in the SEC last year and Would have most likely been a 1st pick last year and has already won a ring and is a senior.

Meanwhile we can’t get guys like Charles to return who never put a full season of solid play on tape and could have def improved his draft stock coming back. Yet declared and didn’t get drafted until the 4th and is now not even on the active roster.

We are never going to be able to compete with them consistently if we cannot keep our own players. This year has been a complete shite show and hopefully doesn’t start a trend.

Because there's a culture of pride in playing for Alabama. Howd they get Devonta Smith to return instead of making a "business decision"?

Yeah I was Sold LSU would build the OLine/Dline to compete with Bama and top dogs on a yearly basis. O even said it. the game in the SEC is won in the trenches. Yet Our Oline/Dline has been Avg at best since O toke over. Yeah i'm including last years Oline. If you look at the Film Burrow made those guys look a whole lot better than they really were.

Bama can get these guys to return because they probably don’t oversell the NFL like we do. But also it coulda also just been because he was the 5th best OT last year at best and wanted to raise his draft stock potentially

Any answer other than money is the wrong answer. Anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves:

Drug testing policy is one reason. Hanny talked about this in post game on Saturday...and he isn’t wrong.

HBO hard knocks New York Jets. The team had a nice joke going around about why Joe McKnight was not into it. “Joe is just mad because he took a pay cut leaving USC for the league.”

Bama’s process is not just player development. There is a process in every organization from players, coaches, administration, and boosters. Winning football championships is all that matters.

The kids listen to and respect Saban.

If Saban tells them they need to come back, they'll probably listen. Saban talks about the "process" and becoming a better player and person in the context of a team.

LSU sells the NFL, and promotes individualism and personal success. We have nothing close to the type of team culture and atmosphere that Saban has established at Alabama (or even Dabo at Clemson).

Every player is different. Comparing two totally different players from totally different situations is a fool's errand.

It’s in the fine print whenever you purchase a Dodge Charger.

quote:

the best LT in the SEC last year

You could make a good case for Saahdiq Charles. He was really underrated.
