Did Sean pull in the reins vs the Broncos out of respect for Vic Fangio

Sean Payton confirmed their game plan became very conservative when they learned all of the Bronco quarterbacks were out due to CV 19 restrictions. It was good strategy based upon the premise the Broncos could not beat them barring some odd developments. When such did not occur it is likely he was being very respectful of his fellow head coach and the situation he was placed in. No doubt Sean also knows Fangio is very respected in New Orleans as the architect of the famed Dome Patrol linebacker corps under Jim Mora. Well played, Sean.

I think he did. That and not wanting to take too big of an advantage of the rare gift that Goodell gave to him.

I mean it’s not like he had anything to gain by embarrassing a team that you only play every four years and didn’t have a quarterback. Better off just coasting and making sure everyone stays healthy.
If it was Atlanta, I’d expect to have been no holds barred.

No, he knew this was the best way to win a game without putting much on film. He just did what he needed to do to get the win.

I believe Sean just wanted to get outta there with a W. 14 pts would've won that game before kickoff under the circumstance.

Maybe a little. But he also said in his PC that there were only a few ways to lose the game and he wasn’t interested in exploring those ways.
I also wonder if he was sticking it to the NFL. He knew it was kinda bullshite the Broncos had to play so he used his most boring, vanilla gameplan in solidarity a little.

I’m sure that kept him up all night during the week

If he pulled the reins in it wasn't going to be until the fourth.

No, you limit mistakes and watch your opponent fall apart.

Denver's run def. is weak so Payton played it smart and kept it on the ground so we got out of there with an easy W without looking like a heel.

The hell are you talking about ..?
The only way Denver wins that game is by Taysom throwing 3 pick-6s.. Sean had a different plan

How do you possibly get that from my post?
Saints: 44 rush att. 16 pass att. Kept it on the ground knowing we could easily run on them without appearing to look like a heel.
Definition of Heel - contemptible, dishonorable .

I really think missing two starting OL also affected his game plan.

I think the plan was probably just to speed up the game as much as possible. Less plays = less chances for injuries.

Maybe just wanted a game plan that was easy, less prone to injuries, and not giving away any fancy plays that are needed against actual competition.

Mission accomplished Game was only about 2 hours and 40 minutes.

I doubt it has much to do with fangio. We would probably do that against any team that was facing that situation
