Three men indicted in connection with a fatal shooting at a Houma Sonic drive-in were among five suspects arrested following a shooting and car chase Saturday afternoon in Houma, authorities said.
Investigators believe Saturday’s shooting was in retaliation for the earlier incident.
Armontae Davis, 19, Arvontae Davis, 19, Xavier Walker, 22, and an unidentified 17-year-old have each been charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated criminal property damage, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities also charged 20-year-old Jai Poole with obstruction of a court order for violating his bond conditions.
All but Walker and the 17-year-old involved in Saturday’s incident were out on bond after being indicted in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old McGarrete Jackson, of Schriever, which occurred July 19, authorities said.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said it received a report of shots fired around 2:36 p.m. near the corner of St. Charles and Main streets. Deputies tried to pull over a suspect vehicle but the driver refused to pull over and traveled recklessly through a residential area.
Because the driver was endangering lives and property, deputies stopped the vehicle at West Park Avenue and Westside Boulevard to prevent it from causing any injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.

Arvontae Davis was indicted last month on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal property damage and two weapons charges in connection with the Sonic shooting.
Poole and Armontae Davis were also indicted in the Sonic shooting on charges of obstruction of justice for trying to remove evidence from the scene shortly before police arrived, the Sheriff’s Office said.
After they were indicted in October, Arvontae Davis, Armontae Davis and Poole were released from jail after posting bond, authorities said.
Investigators said a disturbance occurred at the Sonic that led up to several people drawing firearms and shooting at one another.
Several vehicles also sustained damage during the incident. Authorities did not release a motive.
The suspects were each transported to the Terrebonne Parish jail Saturday, where they are currently being held without bond.

How do you get bail on attempted murder charges?

At what point can judges be held responsible for innocent people dying from criminals they release from jail?

It amazes me how (un)creative they are with naming siblings.

Why do people have identical twins and name them almost identical names?
It does nothing but cause confusion

These stories just keep writing themselves. We all know the race before we even read the story. And we are correct 99.99999% of the time.

Years ago, the Times Picayune had a huge (whole front page of the Family section) about the naming of twins.
I came away feeling sorry for the teachers who are faced with twins with names that are pronounced the exact same way. And those twins are now old enough to have their own.
From the TP pictures, it appeared to have been an ethnic minority thing.
