What movies do you recall where the trailer got you interested/ hyped for the movie only to be let down when you saw the movie?

Godzilla (2014) was an epic trailer, movie was just ok. But that trailer was amazing.
Friday the 13th (2009) looked amazing and ended up being just ok.
Neither were bad movies but its a testament to how great these trailers were that I remember them more than the actual movies.

Godzilla 1998 also did this, but if I had to pick one, Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

American version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I enjoyed the film, but it’s the best trailer that I’ve ever seen.

Not because I think the movie was bad by any stretch, but the Watchmen Trailer with Smashing Pumpkins was just so damn good. Who Watches the Watchmen?

Honestly you can say that about every Zach Snyder film. The guy knows how to make a fricking trailer, that’s for sure.

The New World with Collin Farrell. The trailer made it look like it would be similar to something like Legends of the Fall. Then, well I'm not even sure what the actual movie was about, I remember sitting in the theatre just waiting on something to happen, nothing

Pretty much every Liam Neeson action movie
That Jackie Chan movie where his daughter dies and it looks like he’s just going to be kicking butt on a revenge tour the whole movie, but the movie ended up being a dull political slog
