Politicians have no incentive to worry about the average American and they need reform

Mayors and Governors are killing our economies with this bullshite "lock everything down" plan.
Their salaries should be directly tied to the economies they are elected into. If your economy is performing 5 percent better than last year, you receive a 5 percent increase in pay. If, in the case of COVID, your economy is down 60% percent you should be equally penalized in salary.

I still can’t figure out what the end game is. Are we trying to save all 90 year olds? Covid is extremely survivable. I do not understand the fear.

Rather than the economy as a whole their salary should be tied to the median household income

And to make matters worse, we have set a horrible precedent for response to novel viral outbreaks, of which their will be more in the future.

Control. Even more than they have now.

this is a good way to get hyperinflation in a damn hurry

I really don’t know, and I wonder about it.
They’re clearly enjoying the power and control. They get to micromanage your life.

I am sure the politicians will vote the much needed reform for politicians
You want reform, use high velocity lead

This is one of those things that sounds good in your head but implement it and you will see where your folly lie. They will quickly figure out how to make sure money moves but your money won't be worth shite.

Elected officials, like all govt employees have no accountability to the taxpayers. They get their salaries, their pensions, and lose nothing in times like this. We need 50% less govt and could still easily get everything necessary done.

They're in it for the kickbacks, not the salary. Tying compensation to their performance won't do shite

Politicians shouldnt be getting a dime during lockdowns and pandemics
Posted on 11/23/20 at 4:54 pm to iheartchimichangas
Of course they don't really give a shite. They fight over a chance to go to work for a bankrupt corporation (the United States) only to come out years later multi-millionaires, to a person. They know they have it made if they can get elected. Then, to keep the gravy train rolling they will tell their constituents whatever they need to hear.

I am not saying my idea is the best, but their needs to be some sort of financial repercussion based upon their affects on the area they govern.
