There’s a reason you’re writing on a forum and David Griffin is making the calls. There is not a center out there that puts us in the position to win more games and still give us flexibility. Haynes is a career backup center who’s 33. I’m sorry but I can’t see him signing with the Pels when Boston, Clippers, Wizard, etc have a need for a big. Adams may not be a star, but he’s a quality starting center. If Adams come and it works and he’s wanted by contending teams, it means the Pels made the playoffs. If having Adams for one year gives the Pels young players the experience of having a winning season and a playoff appearance, I would take that over the picks every time. A late first and two seconds not making a difference in the win column. Like I really don’t understand the negativity towards the move. It helps our team for now and doesn’t sacrifice our future. You’re getting too caught up in irrelevant pick assets. Pels have three young bigs in Zion Meli, and Hayes. I think having Adams only benefits them. Zion and Meli both struggle defensively and with rebounding. Adams clean that up. Hayes gets to learn behind a quality center. Maybe Hayes grows and then next year he can move in as your starting center, which is the reason for not getting Favors on a multi year deal. I’m not saying he’s an absolute perfect fit and we should crown Griffin king. He doesn’t stretch the floor and he’s not a great free throw shooter. Favors couldn’t shoot threes, Jrue wasn’t a sniper from deep. But the Pels were still top 10 in the league in three point shooting. But we had a glaring weakness last year and that was interior defense and if he only makes us league average defensively, that makes our team that much better.

At least someone gets it. People are thinking we can trade Hill for a first or something. Or we are wasting assets because we got rid of 2 second round picks we received from other teams.

Biyimbo and Dedmond aren’t good. There’s a reason Dedmond has been on three teams in the last year and Detroit is letting him walk and you want that to be our starting center. Howard signed with the 76ers, Leonard is back with the Heat, Thompson and Ibaka ain’t playing for the Pels be realistic. Baynes might have interest in Boston. Whiteside... be real, you nor anyone else want him. That would be a terrible move. Pels got the best player they could without giving up flexibility or anything relevant.

This is true but they also had a number of people on here saying Griffin keeping Okafor instead of Wood was stupid and we all see how that turned out this year....

I remember saying on pelicans report how stupid we were to give Asik that contract instead of staying flexible and signing Javale McGee on a cheap one or two year deal. Sometimes GMs don’t know everything....

Apply that same logic to this trade and you should be satisfied.

Asset #1 Denver frp
Asset #2 2nd round pick
Asset #3 2nd round pick
Asset #4 Hill

And if the 27.5 isn’t being spent on Adams, it’s being spent on somebody right? No telling what will be available at the trade deadline....

But In this deal you give up nothing of value. George Hill isn’t in our plans. We stayed flexible, by having Adams for a year instead of giving Favors 3 years.

I really think y’all have to let go Demps. Yes he was a shitty GM, but he’s not here anymore. This deal doesn’t hamper us in any way.

We released Christian Woods because he asked the team. Since he won’t be having any play time here.

If the Pels don’t get a starting caliber center, the trade deadline wouldn’t even matter cause we’d be bad and sellers. So what’s available at the deadline is irrelevant when Bledsoe, JJ, Lonzo, and Adams all can be trade assets

Pelicans are DESPERATE for a big man who is at least NBA average. I mean other teams may know that and we may have to overpay a bit but I think it’s worth it. Draft picks are nice in the early first round but it’s a crap shoot after that. I want Griffin to try and win now.
