If only there was some way to affix a small tag with contact information, you know, perhaps around the animal's neck. Then, someone could read the tag information and reunite the pet with it's owners.

Tried that twice. Stupid cat was actually smart and somehow got them off. Wasn’t going to pay the money again. Got the chip implanted but it doesn’t work unless back in the original country.

Cats die with collars on. They'll end up hung somewhere.

Cats will shed the collar if they don’t like it. Our cat won’t wear one. There is chipping though.

That was my first job, making name tags in my grandfather's shoe repair shop .
