Hopefully she didn't sell them later.

I have the American flag that covered my dad's (a ww2 navy vet) coffin.

A definite treasure to me.

Maybe the daughter was a gigantic self-centered POS? I know of quite a few offspring that are worthless.

Now I do have to admit, a few weeks ago at an estate sale, I bought 5 pieces of sterling. They were the CIB, WW2 Door Gunner wings, Jump wings, Army Air Corp wings, and rifle marksmanship badge.
I bought them all because I didn’t want them broken up, so I sold them last night for what I paid for them in one auction, hoping they will stay together.

Good on your part, shitty on her part. Maybe the dad just didn't want to tell his daughter too!

Had passed mine to my son. He passed away and my daughter has them now. Both knew my service record as I explain it to both.

That would also be sad. Sad any way you look at it. And, Gtmodawg, is sad.

You know prior to 2004 I was under the impression that a purple heart recipient was a hero any way you sliced it. Ive known a couple and we all see one once in a while with the tag. That nugget from the 2004 election was not only unnecessary but it called into question ANYONE who had ever receieved a purple heart. That's what is sad.

This has nothing to do with monetary value. You can buy these pretty cheap.
It’s what they represent. I’m a recipient of two Arcoms. They have great value.
They could be extras. I have a box full of extra ribbons, rank insignia, marksmanship badges, etc... from when I was on honor guard and had to wear class a's every day. They really have no sentimental value to me. It's the award orders that I really value.

I have no idea if this is the case but it's a possibility.

These were on a rack (or what ever you call it, I forget). It was 5 deep, and had clusters on them. They definitely weren’t extra

What do you think I had the extras for? To put on a rack with any appropriate devices. Mine are on a rack right now. I also have another rack that's on my a's hanging in the closet.

Look, she may be a terrible person, but I'm just not going to assume so when there are other reasonable explanations.
