So since 10/4, we're up 170 hospital patients, but there's been no noticeable spike in deaths or in vents- what does it all mean?
Younger people got sick and are working on clearing it but haven't died.

We won’t get locked down again unless the death rate all of sudden surges

Remdesivir can only be administered through an IV which I believe requires a hospital admit. People in certain risk categories automatically get the drug regardless of severity of symptoms.

Widely being used now here. Which is why even with the rising hospitalizations, you still have days mixed in of decreased hospitalizations, unlike any other spike period. There are more in and out patients now

At this testing rate, 100% of the state will be tested in 16 weeks, so March 2, 2021.
I can 10000% guarantee you I will not get tested before then.

Covid testing line at lady of the lake in Ascension is about twenty cars deep right now. For the last month there was maybe 2 or 3 cars there

Lafayette is gonna see another spike soon. Schools are going full time and there are pictures circulating of packed clubs and concerts.
Think Lake Charles will as well. Two classes quarantined at a private school that had been full time in person. And didn't New Orleans just reopen bars yesterday? Impeccable timing if so.

What school?

Tested positive for it yesterday after waking up with no sense of smell or taste. Feeling fine other than that and a stuffy head. The worst part, I think, will be having to stay cooped up for 2 weeks. And as my luck would have it, I would test positive for it when it’s a slow week at work

It is creeping up. I know more people who have gotten it in the last few weeks then in the entire pandemic before now.
It suck for the kids in grade/high school because they are out for weeks with what has been less than 24hrs of fever (and no other symptoms) in every instance.

LDH guidelines for schools also advise students can’t “test out” of quarantine. As in they won’t let anyone back before the 14 days are up, even if they test negative before then.

Yep, my kid got sent home for a 2 week quarantine because of "contact" with a positive case in one class. Zero symptoms, got a negative test 8 days after just to be sure, yet no chance to return until day 15.
