Everything about Scott Woodward‘s letter yesterday was great other than the very last sentence. He lost credibility with a very large amount of people with his remarks on “systemic racism”

Agreed. Had he just removed the word “systemic” it would have been correct.

People freaking out about that sentence need to really think about why it bothers them so much. And then also think about the reasons he said it.

He is part of the bought and paid for problem. If he is not 100% politically correct, he will be terminated.

My question is have we seen the body cam videos? Is there evidence this happened and what are the circumstances behind the encounter? This comes from someone who was once a police officer and now a federal agent. I’m not saying one way or the other but where is the evidence that it happened the way the 19 to 20 year old said it happened. The burden of proof is on that person. Now is it concerning that the officers involved are on administrative leave...yes it is. If we are to a point of placing people on administrative leave for accusations then we have fallen of a cliff in this country; however, if there is fire behind this smoke then it will all come out.

I agree. There is so much systemic racism we have never had a black president, or a female vice president elect. There are no black lawyers, doctors, business owners, or heads of corporations. There are no black millionaires or billionaires. Blacks cannot go to college and become successful. Systemic Racism everywhere!

Most with two brain cell, and they seem to be fighting each other! In the near future this wont be a problem, because genetics will take care of it! BET!!!

And the use of the word "black". He turned it into a race issue when the issue is really about presumed bad behavior by cops against another human being. Whatever happened to color-blindness??

People complain that Orgeron lost the team with his comments this summer and people complain about Woodward's remarks. If we want to continue winning, we need to show support to the players. If you disagree then we will lose the players and team forever. Either change your attitude around these type of remarks, or stop following football because times are changing.

Then the last sentence may have been the best one.

Well,he shouldn't. That expression, while vague and somewhat of a dog whistle, doesn't imply every white person is racist regardless of what some far left people say. With that said those who do believe all whites are racists are as bad as these racists they claim to loathe.

I'd let that sentence go and lets get to the bottom of the story. Maybe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I want to know how he has faith in the BRPD to have a fair investigation, while also claiming systemic racism.

I don't see how you can have both.

He contradicted himself with his mental gymnastics.

Equality and fairness is more important than Scott Woodward caring about how a certain group of people perceive his credibility for speaking the truth! The letter in its totality is all truth. If anything, he gained credibility!

Just go with it.

We don’t want a Mike Gundy OAN situation.

Another cave-in by an athletic leader.....if he would not have mentioned it, there would have campus revolts! This is the life we live in today!

There is no problem with Woodward's last sentence:
quote:

Black Americans should never be treated unjustly by law enforcement, and we will continue to do our part to help change systemic racism in America.

Nothing wrong with this clause:
quote:

Nothing wrong with this clause:
quote:

we will continue to do our part to help change systemic racism in America.
