Anyone know anything? Ate there a few times, food was ok, service was so-so. But thought the weekend crowds on the river would keep it rolling.

I know one of your "yard bird" competitors owned it. Could this be the next location for Frickin Chicken???? Man I can see it now... chicken & bikini's....

Homeowners association shut it down is what I heard. And that it was sold to a developer to build more condos on the diversion canal. That place is becoming a death trap out there for boaters. They don't need more bar rooms.

yeah, because no one would bring beer onto a river if there weren't bars.
I thought it was a good idea for a restaurant out there, it is just too damn far to go by land.

If you have good food and good service, people will make the drive. By water or land.

also need a good price, especially to stay in business out there. The off season is what kills those places. Now that The Waterfront and River Highlands are developed they have more constant business, but the place is 30+ minutes past Gonzales and during the winter the place is far from peoples mind.

Since that place was bought the owner didn't make one mortgage payment on that place. It was owner financed and only excuses were given no payment. The financier had enough and foreclosed on his arse.

thats just piss poor mgt on their part. You always pay the mtg, utlities and vendors first. most of their employees were probably tipped employees or knowing him he payed them cash.

didn't Stan Ware own the restaurant? Not sure if he owned the building, but I assumed he did because of some issues I heard about when the new place opened.
